So you don't have a problem with a Muslim / Mormon president? I mean, that person would be a religious leader, right?
I don’t have an inherent issue with either.

And I'm still waiting for a list of all the technological advances homo-sapiens have made due to religion.
The Enlightenment would like a word with you.
quote:
Actually, I'm waiting for any religious leader to get on a stage and instead of waving a Bible around he/she would wave a piece of paper around with the cure for cancer on it.
Who hurt you?

You should find someone to talk to about that.
He should go out and try to find one of the roughly 7% of therapists who aren't religious. #science

St. Jude's

Perhaps he was an alter boy in Boston in the late 90's.

Yeah. That was an awkward and completely unaware retort from him.

There is no coherent atheist morality, lol.

It was just a weird post. Nobody was talking about religion until he brought it up. Reeks of anger and insecurity. Very strange to make such a trite and silly statement completely out of nowhere.

An assumption that God exists or does not exist is relevant to morality.
Without God, all things are permitted.

Just another angry young liberal who is CERTAIN that he's smarter and more worldly than lowly southern conservatives. So certain that he'll stick around for 10 pages getting crucified (swidt?) rather than slink away with a different perspective.

n what district of retard world does it state that religious people dont believe in medicine? Atheists and agnostics make up less that 10% of the population. Are we all just snake handling faith healers to you? You realize there's about a 60% chance your GP is a Christian right?
Do you realize how stupid and bigoted you sound?
Do you realize that not believing in a God doesn't make someone a liberal, or an Antifa member, or a communist, or any one of the many derogatory names thrown at atheists?
Is that what you think of a person who says he/she is atheist? You jump right off the deep end and make a bunch of assumptions? Sweet irony isn't it?

I think it is your unique combination of bigotry, ignorance, and hubris that led him to make those assumptions.

I love the point where 19 year olds believe they have become uniquely enlightened.

Interesting that the atheist isn't the one doing the childish insulting here.
If you have a legitimate rebuttal, then make it.

quote:Sure. I know a lot of staunch Catholics like Pelosi and Biden who are libs too. But that's not how I know you are a liberal. I know you are a liberal because of your clear contempt for the religious and your bigoted and narrow-minded assumptions about their views toward medicine. You may as well tattoo a donkey on your forehead.
Do you realize that not believing in a God doesn't make someone a liberal

I don't believe you ever said you were atheist, nor did I speak one derogatory word about atheists or agnostics.
Projection is more evidence that you are a young liberal. You were the one who drew the equivalency that religious people are somehow hypocrites for consuming healthcare. The bigot is you.

quote:"Work" is relative. If "work" refers to the the CDC imbecile claiming cloth masks are better than a vaccine, then you're right. Masks don't work. But masks generally do lessen respiratory spread.
You mean the same science that shows masks don’t work
quote:That's false.
but continue to wear your mask because science hasn’t proven that the vaccine is effective

No, you didnt. Try this.
One of these institutions is wrought with duplicitous benefactors, wildly charismatic leaders, a cultish and brainwashed following, and a zealous belief in a particular worldview. The other is religion.

The assumptions being made about me b/c I don't believe in a bearded sky fairy is amazing.
You haven’t yet made a cogent argument. The original post is satire regarding a segment of the population that is spouting platitudes they believe to be “Science.” You jumped in the thread and have argued that there are no technological innovations due to Christianity and that St. Jude’s is some example of secular accomplishment. How you breathe and walk at the same time could be the subject of a peer-reviewed paper.
