There is not a chance in hell that Biden will be the nominee. I don't think he even remembers his own name now.

How do they go about coming back?

There’s an obvious internal war for the Dem party right now. Established Dems win = chance to come back. Looney Tunes win = Suicide. Keep in mind, many Republicans just wrestled their party back from RINOs in 2016 election. Just left of center Dems can do the same when they get fed up and the country will be ripe for that candidate.

My mom and dad are old school Democrats. Voted for Carter, Clinton and Obama.

Sat out 2016.

Both love Trump now and will be voting for him in 2020.

Open boarders, free benefits to illegal immigrants, and all the transexual stuff turned them off big time.

I work with an older Jewish guy who is a moderate Democrat. He's already named 5-6 candidates that he could never vote for including Bernie, Warren, Kamala, and Booker (he has a rather large retirement account and believes that they'll come after his money to pay for their insane policies). He will not vote for Trump regardless.

The one name that's missing is Joe Biden. While I know it's anecdotal, this scares me about Biden. He's one of the Democrat candidates that moderate Democrats will support. Now, he does say that so many in his party have gone so far left that he doubts Biden can get the nomination.

Biden can be worrisome in that the sane Democrats will vote for him but he’s really just a slightly left version of Mitt Romney. No one will be enthused to vote for him, then crazy left will stay home or vote for some 3rd party and the black vote won’t show up for him like Obama.

Look at past trends. The center doesn't win elections. Biden will lose easily.

The far left whackjobs hate Trump so much that I don't know if they'll stay home.

In 2016, many far left whackjob Bernie supporters stayed home because they knew sHitlary stole the nomination from Bernie. Also, black men stayed home because they knew a lying, no-good c*nt when they see one.

In 2020, those groups will come out to support Biden.

The far left won't vote for Biden. But it wont make any sort of difference anyway. Most of the people who stayed home for Bernie in 2016 were in states they easily carried.

There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat. Only one that hasn’t obtained enough power yet.

Joe Biden was VP to the most left, progressive, and authoritative president since FDR. Joe Biden is a liar and fully supports a move further left when the cameras aren’t on.

Your Jewish friend is a fool.

What I find the most noteworthy part of this post is that you have decades-long Democrats that still didn't pull the lever for Hillary.

And the sky screamers still wonder how/why Trump won?

Oh, and what size coats do your parents need?

For him, it's about money.

Biden isn't making all the insane tax proposal as the avowed socialists.

He just got his first Social Security check and he half-jokingly said he wondered how long that will last if Bernie or Warren get in office. He really believes that they'll come after people like him who have contributed the max into Social Security for years and have worked to amass a rather sizeable retirement account.

This lack of research frustrates me. If one paid any attention at all, they would know that Trump is one of the most pro-Israel Presidents. Hell, look how bullish Netanyahu is about Trump. Never mind the fact that Trump's daughter is Jewish.

Baffling.

I'm not excited about it. Moderates are boring and we have no representation in either party today. Eventually moderates will come together from left of center and right of center and completely rule federal and state elections but we have got to get to rock bottom at the fringe AND do so during a national emergency before moderates find the willingness to take the country back from the lunatic fringe on the left and the right. And other than a few of you here I'd bet more of you are right centrists than you'll openly admit here....

He's not about Israel.

He readily admits that it's the Jewish part of him that makes him a social Democrat. He also admits that, like many Jews, it was beat into him (i.e., he was brainwashed from an early age) to view the Democrat party as the party that would have been more likely to come to the aid of those impacted by the Holocaust.

I often question him about how can Jews can still support the Democrat party given their antisemitism and their unwavering support for all things Muslim. He sort of hems and haws and always falls back on the Dems and the Holocaust thing. He admits that he can't really explain it well.

I don’t care to get into a discussion about specific policy from Joe Biden, but your friend better take a very close look at who he is supporting. Thirty years he has spent coming after sizable accounts of all types. What do you think Obamacare was all about?

I can’t wait to cast my vote against trump. Just waiting for the last candidate standing. I was working up in Pennsylvania in September of 2008, staying in York. The most vivid memory I had was going to the downtown post office in York that month. I could not walk from one block to the next without someone asking me if I was registered to vote. I imagine the “get out the vote” effort will be much stronger this go round.

this is happening right now.

You might have socialists on one side, but Orange Man is pretty bad, just saying. Biden has to make a good case though
