Anyone else notice an almost daily elevation in morning traffic on the interstate?

I usually leave my house from Denham Springs at about 4:30 most mornings, and I swear, this morning, the traffic was as heavy as it’s ever been.
Are people just tired of the shelter in place laws and simply defying them? Or,
are more businesses simply going back to work on their own?

I noticed that yesterday morning as well, driving into NO...

There were always two state troopers sitting on Causeway and I-10, and I noticed they weren’t there Monday and Tuesday...

I told my wife this same thing back on Friday. Looks like things are getting back to normal on our own.

Yes. And at least 25-30% of the businesses that were closed the first week of SIP are open again. These aren’t retail businesses, mind you, so most wouldn’t notice. But the Infustriplex area has slowly repopulated over the past 2 1/2 weeks.

I think the assholes just feel like getting in the way of the essential people going to work.

They are taking their fat asses to Bojangles and Hardee’s between 630-8. They can wait til 9.

I have not really noticed a lot of decrease in traffic around here... Especially since one of the largest employers in the area (government contractor) put their employees on one week on one week off (with pay)… Traffic during the day has actually picked up and Lowes, Tractor Supply, the Farmer's Co Op, and local nurseries are all packed along with the grocery stores...

I need to see some clinical trails to corroborate this anecdote.

Traffic around the SHITHOLE that is Dallas has been on the increase since the start of the week.

Less covid confirmations the last two days.

No interstate, but on a scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being how dead it was at the beginning of the curfews and shelter order and 10 being normal, I’d say my town is back around a 3. Seems to be moving back in that direction.

I’ve noticed a decidedly lower traffic rate in the afternoon on my drive home on the interstate. It was always bumper to bumper at
The 1-10 1-12 split before and lately, it hasn’t been bad at all.

Yes. In a couple weeks, we’ll have traffic jams again.

Not being real familiar with your area, but some of the morning traffic could be running errands, maybe going to the park to work out, etc which dies off toward the end of the day...

Teens here still trying to hang out in their local parking lots during the day... Going to the river as well...

Even for BR 4:30am is not a high bar on traffic.

This is around the time I am on the road from Millerville to downtown and it's still not even half of the normal traffic.

My wife and sisters are all in healthcare. They saw more patients yesterday than last Monday. They intend to track it each day, but are hopeful we are getting back to normal.

Not seeing an escalation in traffic in Atlanta coming down I-85. What is normally an hour and 15 minute commute was still a 28 minute commute this morning. Empty enough that you get pissed at people in the left lane only doing 10 over the speed limit.

My company is ending the COVID-19 paid leave policy next week. Time to get back at it!
