Way more relevant history than kwanzaa. And it's actually somewhat telling that the US didn't have a holiday commemorating such a thing. It would have been an excellent way to redress the grievance and welcome the freed slaves into society. Of course that was never the goal.

I thought Juneteenth was something associated with Swisha House and the kappa beach party in Galveston. It was a Texas thing. Let's not act like it was covered in history books.
