That's not a very Christian attitude, quite frankly. You should be supporting your family members, especially one engaged in such an important job. But no, you'd rather score cheap points on a messageboard.
I could easily point out that I make exponentially more money than the conservatives at my workplace, primarily due to their lack of education and even basic reasoning skills, but I prefer to take the high road and turn the other cheek.

All conservatives here. We did have a little trouble with some college age nephews and nieces a few years ago, but they grew up and got jobs. Now they are taxpayers and problem solved.

Wife and I showed up in maga hats in 2016 and it was glorious. Lib family members were pissed. Haven’t dealt with them since. Haha.

Yep, for some reason I agreed to go to the in-laws…. Haven’t seen my SIL and her fruity husband in four years…. I am expecting it to get ugly as it usually does when she starts making snide remarks about everything from my service to how I vote…
The good news is, I will show up, I will eat shitty yankee Thanksgiving food then head to the hunting cabin for the remainder of the weekend…. Oh and I will let her speak then put her in her place in front of her fruity husband and her kids….

If you break out the 'repeal the 19th' and 'women shouldn't vote' bit, the conversation gets real lively.
And they probably won't come back next year.

Nope. They tried but I would not take the bait. Feels like winning! Plus the ol' ball and chain is happy.

No need to argue politics at our family table. Both sides of my family are pretty much in agreement politically and are staunch constitutional conservatives. Makes for a peaceful transition from main course to dessert with no fear of indigestion. Besides, the football afterwards is stress enough!

We have way too many more interesting things to discuss than whatever the rich people in DC want us fighting about.
The closest we got to a political discussion was when I told my brother there’s a girl from Jerusalem in my phd cohort. She considers herself Palestinian and is a Muslim. My brother asked me if the Christian God is the same as the Jewish God. But we just talked about our ideas- it wasn’t a debate or anything.

I had a pleasant interaction with a cousin of mine who is generally a hard-line Democrat. He is finally fed up with an…..um…..certain element that has caused some problems in Baton Rouge.
