Less than one week after Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that she would not be seeking re-election, a third candidate has filed paperwork to join the race.
Atlanta City Councilman Antonio Brown has filed paperwork with the Georgia Campaign Finance Commission for his campaign to succeed Mayor Bottoms.
Brown was elected to Atlanta City Council in 2019 and represents District 3, which includes Vine City, English Avenue and Atlantic Station.

His time in office has not all been smooth sailing. In July 2020, Brown was indicted multiple fraud charges in in what the Department of Justice says were his attempts to defraud several financial institutions.
U.S. Attorney Byong J. “BJay” Pak said Brown took out loans and made credit card purchases, and then falsely claimed he was the victim of identity theft and not responsible for the charges or repaying the loans.

That dude is huge piece of shite. Stereotypical Democrat.

Some more diversity from a morally bankrupt culture!

I guess "BJ" is marginally better than "Lil Dork".

He will be perfect for that place.

I'd like to assume we aren't taking about the football player, but at this point I can't really assume that.

There is your winner.
Black people literally love and admire a corrupt black politician. They see it as "getting over on the man".

Even my black friends get nervous when we drive through there.

He sounds like a real victim of democracy. He is probably a lock for Atlanta. They deserve him.

Checks all the boxes for Atlanta politics. Corrupt black politician.

So, he is cut from the ATL mayoral cloth, eh?

I don't much follow local politics, but do these big city Dem voters ever have a watershed moment where they say "Know what? I think I'm going to give the GOP mayoral candidate a chance and vote for him"
I know Htown sure as hell doesn't do it.

Multiple fraud changes act as a resume enhancement for Democrats.

Trying to rival the NOLA DA.
Open and corrupt criminals running our government and lives and nobody doing jack shite to purge any of them.

His history automatically makes him the front runner. The white liberals infesting Atlanta proper will be happy to cast a virtue signaling vote in his favor, because, you know, his past crimes aren't really his fault.

I agree. He is the perfect candidate for holding public office in 2021 USA.
Steal as much as you can steal before the whole shithouse comes crashing down. That should be his campaign slogan.

The charges will make him more relatable to the voters.
