They came to fruition, just disastrously. The economic policies and end result of, let's say, Nazi Germany and Kampuchea are in no way comparable.

Wut? We need to establish some terminology here. I don't have time for that though.

All governments fall into oligarchy at some point.
First is anarchy/revolutionaries and then eventually power is sapped up by a few.
America is so unique in how it made it. They recognized how quickly nations fall into the hands of a few after freedom is won. They established a form of government that meant to strangle the central government from ever growing so large as to attract outside influence to buy off the government. It worked for a long time but eventually their dream fell through.
Now we have a central bank and corporate america that has gained its stranglehold over our federal government. They get stronger while "we the people" have gotten smaller--im terms of power.

Wow. There is so much wrong with this post I don't know where to begin.
Well maybe with a history book that's not been twisted by the left wing academia....and then a high school civics class. Just look at history starting about 1900 and go forward...you'll soon learn the difference between communism and fascism. And while you're at it...learn the difference between Nationalism, Socialism and Patriotism.
It wouldn't hurt to learn the difference between a Democracy and a Democratic Republic as well.

view the political spectrum as a circle and you realize that the further you go in either direction you always end up at authoritarianism
This is the truest thing you’ve ever said, although the majority of authoritarian regimes in world history have been centered around communism, which is left wing.

Fascist and communist don't, but keep telling yourself that.

Anyone who defends Antifa should have to spend a year with some real fascists, like in North Korea, Sudan, or Syria.
Posted on 2/13/18 at 4:06 pm to L.A.
I'd say only Syria would qualify as quasi-fascist.

That is such a long post to be wrong.
In some way, both fascistic and communistic regimes controlled the entire society and economy, there is no debate on that.
Also, this is arguing the European sense of what is right and left. You should be looking at an American sense of right and left. Right has almost always been the side for smaller national government.
Eta: I say that you should be arguing about the American sense because European and American political ideology on right and left is vastly different. Europeans don’t really understand what small government is.
Which is why Washington called for us to stay out of Europe’s affairs:
"The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations, is in extending our commercial relations to have as little political connection as possible... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalships, interest, humor, or caprice?... It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliances with any portion of the foreign world."

Antifa is a fascist organization. It uses all of the mechanisms the Brown Shirts used in the early NAZI movement which defined fascism. Turning out in large violent groups and not allowing descent. Like so many fascists, they act a certain way, then accuse their foes of acting that way. So they condemn others who are speaking as fascists, then violently suppress their speech.

I think it actually would be very helpful to have a single-post, locked thread with nothing but terms and definitions for all users to peruse. JMO

Well, really they are dramatic wannabes. They have no protection from arrest and prosecution. Anyone who attends political events with the intent to threaten or initiate violence should be arrested and prosecuted.

Really? Because I certainly haven't seen that in the last five presidents that were Republican. I think what you really mean is they want to shrink government programs that are for the General Health of the public and dont aid industry. They seem to be helping the military industrial complex and all of the weapons contractors with American money in the place of things that actually help Americans
