Brainwashing is real.
People in positions of influence or power consistently claiming black people are oppressed and that white people are evil... lead to people close to the bottom of society believing it, and acting in their own ways to fight against the make believe injustice.
I've been saying our current society is mirroring pre-holocaust nazi Germany. For years people of influence or power in Germany would talk about how evil Jews are, how oppressed Germans are, that shite caused some regular germans to snap. They would attack Jews..in an attempt to "fight back". When Jews were attacked, there was no real reporting on it. There was no real outrage. Because it was impossible for the german msm to portray a jew as anything but a monster.
It's why msm here will gloss over incidents that involve white victims, and not do in depth reporting.. because white people can't be portrayed as victims. They can only be portrayed as one dimensional villains. The small media outlets that will do in depth reporting of an incident like that are discredited and attacked by msm.
Added: i will add that it's not just white victims who are ignored. It's black victims who are killed by black aggressors who are ignored also. Lot of black children have been killed in drive bys in recent years..and there's no real outrage outside of the community level. Read about one that was heartbreaking, in st lois, a few miles from where dumbasses were rioting in Ferguson for Michael brown, a little girl about 5 years old was shot and killed, when a stray bullet from a drive by went through the house window and hit her while she was sleeping in her bed.

I don't believe it was because the people instigating that shite genuinely believed Jews were monsters.. it was probably just a means to create division and chaos.
May be thinking too much though, and may just be a case of governments using division tactics to keep populations divided.. so that it's impossible for a population to unite and look at the government with scrutiny. Germans were focused on the division rhetoric and ignored what their government was doing. We're the same way. USSR also employed that strategy.
