At this point, I feel for Srinivas Kuchibhotla. Now that was a hate crime. Media didn't give a ton of attention to it and it wasn't an opportunistic gotcha so this board didn't either.

Just watched video in OP, and it's awful. Hope they catch the guy.

Yeah it's totally justifiable to violently attack another person if they call you a name.

Exactly.

It's so ridiculous to fight someone over it.

I can't imagine an asian, or anyone really, just calling someone that unprovoked.. but I admit, I do not know. I mean no matter what someone did or said to me, I would still never say it.. but I can understand if he was called something racial to then do it back.

I don't know, but that was way too much pounding. Sheesh.

He didn’t call anyone that. He was probably on the phone bullshitting with another Chinese friend and got the shite beat out of him for that. If you talk in Mandarin for over 30 seconds, that (see did it here) will be brought up in a conversation.

If that

so this board didn't either.

What sort of sleuthing do you expect "this board" to do?

Perhaps you could link the thread you started about it.

I’m just making an observation. Never said anything about the beating

Guess it was fun for you to view then.

However, if true, that’s the kind of racism that cannot be permitted.

How about a simple frick You from me to you.

I didn’t hear him say that, or the n word for that matter, in the video. All I heard was the comments at the end where they said he said called him a n****r. If it was “Naige” then that’s a completely different story, but how many people on that train speak/understand Mandarin and would know that’s clearly what he said? I’m still saying there’s not enough info yet.

None, but there were a couple threads on it. One or two replies. Like I said, wasn't opportunistic enough.

Did you not post you heard it at the end.

At the end? You know after what could be viewed as an attempted homicide. And the possible use of the N word is what got your panties in a bunch. You are one misguided arse hole. Or just another troll.

Even if he did say the N-Bomb, the assault is still uncalled for. But he should be able to speak in his native fricking language and not be assaulted for it because idiots get the wrong idea. There’s almost no way you can speak for more than two minutes in Mandarin and not use that word.

Seriously would you excuse the assault of a Spanish speaker for using the word “negro” when describing something completely unrelated that looks black? Plus negro with Spanish speakers is likely to only come up once in a long conversation, not 200 or so. The racist slur and Mandarin for “That” are completely unrelated, and I refuse to put up with thuggery and tyranny over other citizens simply because of violent idiots think it’s something that they’re not saying.

Panties in a bunch? What?

This is what I said:

At the end of the video they said, “he called him a n***er”

What’s your issue?

He used the most commonly used word in the most spoken language in the world. No, you shouldn’t have your arse kicked for that.

I couldn't hear him say anything one way or the other.

Of course, even if he did, 1) he didn't deserve the beating and 2) we don't know what happened BEFORE THAT.

There’s almost no way that black guy speaks Mandarin. I don’t even know what was actually said. I haven’t said once that the beating was deserved even if at the very worst he called him a n****r. What I said was calling someone a n****r is the kind of racism we cannot permit, not in the sense that I was defending the assault.

You have to be mentally weak and have the self assurance of an infant to let a singular word push you over the edge.

There’s THAT word again. Imagine if you went to Europe or China and getting your shite kicked in if you said the word THAT in your native tongue. It’s a completely unfair demand for you to not use THAT in your native tongue especially if you’re trying to learn the language. Seriously how are you supposed to learn the language when you can’t ask “What is that?” without being violently assaulted?

How do we know that's what he said, I guess, is my question. Unless there's another video of the attack somewhere else.
