The most difficult part of trying to have discourse on this board is trying to differentiate between the mass ideological inconsistency and the mass intellectual dishonesty.

There is no way, with how communications go with people in Congress, she could have ingested the responses from many of her constituents in 2 hours or so.
They do this with the NDAA every single time.

What are you talking about.
This goes to show you the political pressure these people are under.
Anna Paullina is a great, conservative rep. She felt compelled to vote YES because of the disaster funding. She openly discussed how disappointed she was that they did it this way. She was in a no win situation due to the Hurricane situation.
It is a GREAT sign that the pressure is strong enough to force her to back down.

Outside of local elections (where parties don't really matter), I couldn't tell you the last time I voted for a DEM. Could be as far back as 2024.
No it's 2012 for a personal friend. Other than that, 2004 I think.

You don't believe that people can change their minds based on changing circumstances?

I would think people are going to disagree with what is "clean." To me, that would include no funding for Israel. But, only Massie, Omar, and Tlaib will agree with that.

In 2 hours? No.

Again... did she flip flop? Or did she come out one way, thinking she was doing best for her district, and then the people in the district said "Hey... don't do this garbage on our behalf", so she listened to them (novel concept for Washington) and changed her vote?
I can see how she was torn by the prospects of leaving her constituents in their current state, and violating her national goals. Her attempts to do a stand alone bill was refused..
Another chess move could be made by the publicity of her flip, shining the spotlight on both her needs for her constituents, and the outrageous attempts included in the CR. I like this thought.

It's pretty weak to do it within two hours.

have ya ever thought, oh I dunno, that like the rest of us she found out more what was in the 1500 pages like us general peons did?
we all know a group of Dr Evil's, Goldman the lawyer, and Thurston Howell the Thirds-- write these damned bills and resolutions off campus and farm them in to the pimps. to sell as virginal whores.

They may have had to break out the Clay Higgins' crayons for her

spine·less
1. having no spine or backbone; invertebrate.
2. lacking resolution; weak and purposeless.
The way you think is so simplistic.
Her entire point was that she hated the bill, had to vote for this "shite sandwich" because her constituents needed the emergency funding. Voting against would be voting against the #1 issue of her constituents even though it is terrible for the country overall. She lamented having to support it.
It's anything but spineless to change her position. It harms her politically. But, she's doing the right thing.

Then why do you even argue on this board if you are not trying to persuade others one way or the other?
The changing circumstances in this case were apparently her constituents in the last two hours. They gave her the cover to vote no.
