So Cooper's great great grandfather, Cornelius Vanderbilt, owned several plantations full of slaves. Apparently he was also somehow his distant cousin due to inbreeding

When will Van Jones demand removal of the Cornelius Vanderbilt statue at Grand Central terminal?

When will Cooper be asked to step down over being a slave owner?

You will hear not a peep from the left.
We can expose him about it and force him to acknowledge it.
He will make an apology and denounce his ancestors and that will be enough for the libtards.

The Biltmore Estates is unbelievable. I went up there a few Christmas's ago and was blown away. They didn't say but I suspected the Biltmore was built off slavery.

One interesting thing I remember was that before WWII began all the Washington DC art and historical artifacts from the Museums and White House were moved to the Biltmore for storage during the war .

Sounds like what the Nazis did to the Jews.

So the Vanderbilts are slaveowners and Nazis?

That statue is badass.

That's all I have to contribute, really. Carry on...

Biltmore was built by one of Cornelius Vanderbilt's grandsons in the very late 1800s. So, presumably, no actual slaves were used in its construction.

For being the richest guy in the world in his times, Cornelius Vanderbilt was relatively conservative with his money. Don't get me wrong, he had a lot of luxury in his life, but he didn't go completely over the top. He worked for his money. It was his grandchildren, and maybe one or two of his children, who built the gigantic houses like Biltmore.

Glad we agree that reparations are a bad idea.

I care as much about Anderson Cooper's grandparents owning spaces as I do anyone else's. Which is to say, absolutely zero.

So a controlling wealthy family isn't allowed to have a member that awakens and decides not to be for his privilege?

JFK and Robert Kennedy were assassinated

Yep, good ole Anderson Coopers "people" owned Michelle Obama's "people". Cooper’s great-great grandfather, Cornelius Vanderbilt, owned several plantations, including a South Carolina plantation where Michelle (Robinson) Obama’s ancestor Jim Robinson was born.

Weird how judgy that **** is, and talks about Washington etc owning slaves...Where's the outrage?

For all practical purposes, AC is a gay version of Cheryl's brother Cecil from Archer. (The Tunt family is a proxy for the Vanderbilts in the show, right down to the mansion being next to the Roosevelts - to quote Cheryl, "Total shitbox. They're weird.")

True story...

So you think his 'reporting skills' landed him this CNN gig?

Do you mean like Robert E Lee freeing his slaves when he came of age or do you mean like Grant and Sherman keeping their slaves until they were freed by constitutional amendment well after the war?
