I misread debates as debacle, but that probably sums it up.

The supposed quote doesn't match the transcript:
The entire quote in context (and the quote was inaccurate to begin with) isn't all that incoherent. He was referring to the electoral process in times of crisis and how we've never sacrificed the republic at those times.
If anything, he was surprisingly coherent vs his usual mouth salad.

quote:
Well, we're going to have to do a convention, may have to do a virtual convention. I know -- I think we should be thinking about that right now. The idea of holding a convention is going to be necessary, but we may not be able to put 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 people in one place and that's very possible. Again, let's see where it is.
What we do between now and then is going to dictate a lot of that as well. But my point is that I think you just got to follow the science. Listen to the experts. Listen to the Faucis of the world. And if that's the case, it's the case.
But we cannot let this -- we’ve never allowed any crisis from a Civil War straight through to a pandemic in ‘17, all the way around, in ’16, we have never, never let our democracy take second fiddle, we can both have a democracy and elections and at the same time protect the public health.
But I think it's time we start thinking about how we're going to hold elections, whether we're going to have to spend a lot of time figuring whether we do -- is it going to mostly be by mail, which is not the preferred route for everyone -- how are we going to do that? How are we going to make it available to everybody?

Wait, did you just link ABC as a reliable source?
snopes says not so fast, my friend

Wait, did you just link ABC as a reliable source?
full video of the interview
He does say "sakes" - which they've obviously corrected to "take" (not sure I agree with doing that, although it's clear that's what he meant). He also meant to say flu of 18 and not 16, so he got that wrong. In any event, if you listen to it, it's really just not confusing at all.
FWIW - the "word for word" that you posted has many deviations from the actual video.

Also, from Joe:
quote:
7's the key number here. Think about it. 7-Elevens. 7 doors. 7, man, that's the number. 7 chipmunks twirlin' on a branch, eatin' lots of sunflowers on my uncle's ranch. You know that old children's tale from the sea. It's like you're dreamin' about Gorgonzola cheese when it's clearly Brie time, baby. Step into my office.

I saw that live. How can this guy be propped up by the Demorat (not a misspelling) Party?
I have no respect for anyone voting for that clown.

I suppose that was a moment of clarity for uncle Joe.

I call bullshite. I watched the clip.
What he said was, "Coronavirus? C'mon, man. Look. It's Tuesday, see. Now we have an old saying in Connecticut: every Wednesday there's beet salad and for Christmas you get double the bacon. That's how we're gonna beat this thing. Not by doing whatever it is we're not doing now. Trump is a disaster, so that's how we're gonna handle it when I'm President."
Word for word.

I want to slap the frick out of Jill Biden.
Is she really THAT desperate to be First Lady? Perhaps she sees herself in some sort of Edith Bolling Wilson role, i.e., the de facto president?
