And what do you think will replace the power production it supplies? You’ve got about 14% of an ever expanding energy use need that’s coal.

Wind, Solar, Hydro, Biomass can’t fill that gap. Best start ramping up those rare earth metals purchases from China to even try.

Nuclear? Good luck getting that past the environmentalists.

Oil? See above

Gas? See above

Fairy dust? Wishing seems to be the Democrat plan for everything.

Natural gas. There is a clear recent history of natural gas displacing coal on the grid and so long as we continue to have a glut of natural gas expect that to keep happening.

Not overnight, but certainly over a long enough time frame it can displace enough

Investments have been made in nuclear

You're generally right about crude and liquids production.

But Obama/Biden have been a problem for LNG. That subindustry is kind of complicated and esoteric but they have been a headwind against it.

So what’s your proposal? Kamala over Trump on energy policy?

Congrats on Biden being ineffectual in his campaign promises wrt energy. I doubt Kamabla will be as lazy.

The headwinds for LNG come from an administration that is perfectly okay with our LNG losing bids to Qatar.

For example, the Driftwood LNG project in Lake Charles had commitments form India and part of those commitments were due to the influence Trump had on the deal. As soon as Biden was elected the influence from the WH died, India pulled out and committed to a slightly cheaper supply of LNG with Qatar.

The natural gas the current administration hates and wants to eliminate?

Powerman you are an idiot. Vote for this shite again. Trump told you what they did they shut down US production as soon as Biden took over to show Trump. Started buying from other countries and then realized their own stupidity when gas prices were shooting through the roof they used our reserves then starting going back to Trump years policies and opening up our production again. You vote for that Harris ticket again dumb arse.

One thing is certain. If gas prices ever get to $2.00 a gallon again it won't be for any good reason. It will be because we're in a deep recession.

I don't see how people don't understand that
Holy shite. Fat Bastard is correct, you are on the low functioning spectrum of mongoloid.

I don't like being mean to your type of people but I have seen you here before find one stupid graph, start a thread ---and shite all over the thread like a pigeon that forgot to come home and crashed.

Hey fella, we are in a deep recession because the truckers that carry that oil and NG from NM..... Have to pay a lot more in fuel prices which then trickles down to everything being record high inflation.

We are in a deep recession because Biden regulated a war on fossil fuels.

The State of Pennsylvania would like to slap your dumbass silly on saying their furnace bills this winter will have to be on the budget plan and eventually paid off. But they haven't caught up from last winter.

You stupid numbskull that posted you j/o and swallowed your own cum. Do you have a clue the damage and waste that the green new deal and offshore windmills has done? Look it up, off the NE coasts down to NC.

Where do you live? Fairyland in the woods? I lost my temper with you because you are such a hardheaded arrogant prick.

No. You would have to be stupid to infer that from anything I've stated.

Big investments have also been made in renewables over the years And before you all start crying I'm not crediting Biden for any of this This goes all the way back to the Bush administration moving forward Stop bitching

Here is the problem as I see it

At least in terms of oil and gas, When the prices go low the profits also go low so the consumer benefits but the companies much less so

When the prices are high the consumer suffers but the companies make larger profits. The balance is the appropriate price for the consumer in the company. I think everyone agrees we are currently not there.

I also think we are less dependent on OPEC for keeping prices stable.

I would like to give you an example of the impact of high supply and low natural gas prices.

What you are looking at below is the Mississippi Power plant in Kemper County Mississippi. They located the plant at this location because of the abundance and easy to access lignite coal that is easily surface mined. You can see the surface mining scaring south of the plant. Coal fired plants burn coal, boil water to create steam which turns a turbine that spins a generator. It makes total sense to locate your coal power plant as close to the natural supply of coal as possible. That's what Mississippi Power did here.

But though regulations and the incredibly cheap market for natural gas Mississippi power scrapped their entire coal plant and replaced it with a natural gas fired plant. You can see the demolished part of the old plant to the west in the aerial below.

I'm just mentioning this anecdote to demonstrate the real regulatory and market forces on the energy sector.

Biden tried to kill the US oil industry by banning all oil gas from federal lands the first day in office. That was day one, early into his administration, and still having a few lucid moments. The left is hellbent on ending gas production and sending us back to the Stone Age. Once they can wrangle the courts or flip a few more seats in Congress they will do so. Make no mistake about it, they hate you, they hate America and they REALLY hate oil and gas.

A lot of good that did

You underestimate the power of the energy lobby. Nothing will happen.

Any idea when the pipeline will be open? If Harris gets elected, she will put price controls in place like Carter did in the 70’s which will cause a shortage. Hope you are happy waiting in line for gas.

Yet. They aren’t hiding their agenda. They aren’t speaking in generalizations. Like everything else, just chip away. Flood the courts with EOs, environmental activism, corporate activism, ESG, ect. They know they can’t win their jihad on oil and gas in one day, or even one administration, but make no mistake their end goal is all the same. Eliminate oil/gas and throw the globe into poverty.
