I just bought a 420,000 new build home that was listed for $530,000 6 months ago.
My area is still going up, but I'm believe there may be a lag, here. There are a lot of retirees moving to south FL, and most of them sell a house up north and pay cash for a home down here. I think the fear of a housing crash is causing people to accelerate there plans and people up north are selling now, in order to get down here before the housing market goes to shite.
Because so many are paying cash, interest rates are not a deterrent.

And it’s being done on purpose; that’s the kicker. We are a nation of utter morons.

I believe it. They have warehouses everywhere (building one 4 miles from my house) and the number of people needed to deliver the packages they deliver must be astounding.
Aren’t the packages delivered primarily via the USPS?
Lastly, the # is 1.7 million, not 1.4, but that includes part time employees. As such, it is a misleading number, but still more people than I would have thought.

That’s just corporate and suits. They have almost a million employees in America alone. Which these cuts simply won’t have any real impact on.
None of these Tech RIF’s are going to impact the Blue Collar workforce. Wall Street and the Investor Class are going to re-evaluate the worth of a bunch of tech companies and stock. Start ups will be killed by the hundreds if not thousands due to their burn rate of cash creating negative environments for capital raising.
This isn’t to say this won’t spread throughout the stock market. But other companies simply weren’t involved in this overvaluation.
Blue collar types will feel inflation but it won’t be as bad for Main Street as it is for Wall Street. Just like the last time.

quote:I lazily use Amazon a lot. Depends on the packaging. USPS is used a lot on the lighter stuff. UPS and FedEx seem to be an even split to me on the larger/heavier stuff. If it will fit in a mailbox, it's almost always USPS. Or it might start off with either FedEx or UPS and handed off to the USPS for actual delivery. Seems like Trump always complained about the crappy contract USPS had with Amazon. I see mail trucks out on Sunday and they are almost always delivering Amazon packages. You know they have to be taking a beating on that.

Amazon employs over 1.4 million people globally?
Even based on his numbers its 0.77%, not 0.007%.
The moron doesn't even know how to convert fractions to percentage. Why would I value his opinion on anything.

Will they give Amazon as hard of a time as they did Musk?

There are tons of major companies who will be laying people off within the next 2 months and of course it will trickle down to all of the smaller supporting companies and then to the greater economy as a whole. They had to wait until after the elections so they could keep the oligarchy in power.

Dude... 10,000 / 1,400,000 = .0071 = 0.71%. He said 0.007%.hes off by a factor of 100. This isn't hard. Jesus.
ETA: He used 1.298M which is where I got 0.77%.

A bunch have been outsourced to USPS and FEDEX.
