That would not go well...especially in certain parts of rural AK
Honestly dont care.
We have no say in local land issues with the USFS or NPS. I served on a community advisory committee in the 90s, they do what they do regardless of community input. The entire process is beyond a joke.

I got perp walked virtually by a dickhead boss in 2020 who used Covid and my age to shove me out the door after 17 years with a Fortune 5 company. Zero severance. Luckily, I was old enough to “retire”, but make no mistake, myself, and others got the boot purely based on age. It sucks losing one’s job, are you feeling the same sadness for the 15-20% of Chevron’s workforce about to be put out on the streets? For the tens of thousands that lost their jobs when JoeTato unilaterally canceled the Keystone pipeline on his first day in office? I think his exact words to those displaced workers was “learn to code”. Shoe on the other foot and the Libs and their media minions wail and gnash their teeth.

Can’t lie I was surprised by this.
Worked with a military officer that separated to take a Government job closer to their home of record. He was still in probationary status and is out of that job now.

Not sure how I feel about that yet.
So?

The good thing is, nobody cares how you feel

Meh, we saw the my body my choice crowd firing people for not getting the vaccine. At least these layoffs are done so tax payers can save money.

Those folks don’t deserve to be laid off to satisfy some misguided political agenda.
It’s not about deserving. When a company can’t pay its bills, it cuts costs. Labor is a big cost.
The FedGov can’t pay its bills. See above.

It sucks and you should be pissed that this had to be done. Hopefully those are the ones that are prioritized when departments need to hire back as restructuring continues. Social Security is an example of understaffed. At least for the system they had in place.

Do you think this is by accident?
Biden's racial/gender Nazis were promoting their stormtroopers at the end of his administration.
These are EXACTLY the people we should fire.

Speaking as a FedGov employee, here's how the system works:
1. If you change agencies, you are on probation just as if you came out of college and this was your first job. The amount of prior service in another agency doesn't count. You can be let go at any time within that period.
2. If you promote or take a new position within an agency, you are also on probation. BUT: if this was your first tenure in that position (such as becoming a new supervisor), IF you are unsuccessful, you must be returned to your prior position (even if that results in moving down to a prior grade, such as back to a GS-12 from a GS-13). The SECOND time you're in a position, that rule doesn't apply; you have no rights to your old position.

Your feelings, and the feelings of those fired, don't matter.
