I'm just glad we're no longer talking about MS-13 or tariffs. Trump completely changed the narrative with this Alcatraz idea.

Next... these dumbasses forget that Trump has been in construction for over 60 years. His companies have gutted and remodeled hundreds of old, dilapidated crumbling buildings to get them up to code and to sell/rent out for millions. This refurb project won't be that hard for him to do because it's peanuts compared to a lot of other remodels that he has done in the past.
Some of yall just live in a fantasy world. This isn’t serious.

Trump was in his recliner when Escape from Alcatraz came on the television and thought it’d be fun to discuss. He just loves television like most elderly people

Oh it's going to destroy the tourism in San Francisco!!!!

Tourism will increase exponentially when the leftist freaks flock to visit the illegal alien gang banger inmates. There will be brazen escape attempts led by AOC, The Squad and Jasmine Crockofshite aka..Squeal Team 6.

but there are many things that need to be operational when functioning as a working prison that don't need to be functioning as a museum. Examples include: showers, kitchen, medical clinic, exercise yard, all security locks.

As Warden Norton would retort....all the public cares about is the bolded part.

I think Trump is trolling the left with Alcatraz remodeling. At the same time Trump is making a point about law and order.

Same. I don't think for one second he actually wants to remodel that old prison.

My wife and I did the tour back in 2013. We had a blast. It's an iconic part of America's history. I hope it is left as a museum.

I did the night tour…. last tour where they take you over in the boat but you stay late and have a guided tour and then left to wander for a while.. they let you go into solidarity confinement and close the door and let you hear it click shut

Fwiw it is fine as a tourist and historical park .. why would you even want to make it a prison

No shortage of vacant land in middle of nowhere where to build something much more cost effective.

The hard left policies have already pretty much destroyed tourism in SF.

Been on the tour twice, but never at

I went this Saturday night. It was nothing special, too many people in there to really be eerie. Cool place to see once though. Cells were tiny, which was great to see

Go in the winter .. it was pretty lonely out there.. .. you can buy a snazzy souvenir heavy jacket just before boarding the boat cause I guarantee you underestimated how cold the ride was going to be..

My wife still has that high quality jacket in the back of the closet .. it was nice.. and looking into the city lights and noise from out there interesting.

Just freshen up the guards quarters and amenities and leave the rest just the same.

I have been to Alcatraz, just keep the prisoners in trh same old cells & throw some bread in there 2x’s day

Think living and touring are 2 very different things…. Side note the only reason I could think remodeling it would be difficult is it’s on an island. Getting materials in and debris off would take a lot of coordination and effort. Is it worth it? Don’t know… wait to see what the winning bid is.

The left is losing their minds over this screaming that it is going to be waaaaaaaaaaay too expensive to turn this place into an actual functioning prison.

Spending billions to fund an invasion wasn’t too expensive though.

I just don't care about Alcatraz. It's just more red meat, not necessary.

But whatever. It's not a deal breaker for me either/.
