Why the downvotes?. BC with Alberta would shut off the northern exploration from CA. It would also give an option to pipeline the O&G to the Pacific Coast without going to Alaska. I'm no O&G guy but having another access to the coast doesn't seem outlandish to me.

quote:

British Columbia has a population of over 5.7 million people, with about 60% of residents having European descent and significant Asian and Indigenous minorities. The province is known for its diversity, with nearly 30% of the population being immigrants and a majority identifying as irreligious, followed by Christianity and Sikhism as the most practiced religions.

I can live with that.

Probably because BC is very comparable to WA in voting patterns. Rural conservative population vastly outnumbered by a solidly liberal metro.

There are tons of videos online of the Premiers of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba discussing secession. Yukon and the Northern Territories are joining in. Even Quebec is starting to fight Ottawa.

You're probably right but if Alberta comes in, having BC might help. Otherwise we would still have California to the west.

How many pipelines do we having coming from Alberta into the US?

I would definitely welcome Alberta more than any other province.

Let's be honest. If they vote for the referendum and the US actually acknowledges, they can take it and there isn't s fricking thing Canada could or would do about it.

It would give the US a significant Electoral boost.

Why do you think they'd 'errantly' be thought of as a red state?

Because they're never going to give up "free" healthcare, no matter how shitty it gets.

It’s a start. Each province could eventually become a separate US state. Alaska would then be a contiguous state. Greenland would be much easier to annex, as well.

Canada would fling itself into civil war before allowing this to happen.

I’d be fine with Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. Have severe doubts about British Columbia because of Vancouver.

But the eastern and northern parts of BC with the Yukon to connect to Alaska would have merit.

They'd be Democrat.

Basically Colorado.

Wish then best leaving Canada.
But, sadly we don't need them.
