No, it's bullshite. My high school had a morning prayer group at a central fountain and nobody was pressured or ostracized, students and faculty could go as they pleased. This was in the 1990's too, nobody was dragging the goth kids to Jesus. Pray or don't get with the "the hot chicks", how pathetic...

Oh yeah? No, he really is right though. You may not have played sports, but when you’re on a team wearing the same uniform, you either get with the program and submit yourself, or prepare to get ostracized/questioned/belittled/bullied. The baws just wanted to look like good baws. Got girl’s parents watching and judging. This is south louisiana. I don’t know where you live but around here you better bow that head and close your eyes. Baw

You’re really overthinking this. I went to a Catholic school, so of course we prayed all the time before games and whatnot. Plenty of times I had my eyes open and looked around (sometimes just for curiosity’s sake). Believe it or not, nobody ever said anything or tried to burn me at the stake.

Unless you just want to be totally different and stand off to the side and play on your phone while the team prays for 30 seconds. So edgy. So brave. So rebellious.

How about I stand off to the side and play on my phone without you getting sand in your vag about it. I would politely remain quiet and out of sight while you pray, without you worrying about what I’m doing, snowflake.

Can’t handle 30 secs of doing something in solidarity with teammates.

Calls other people a snowflake.

We are rapidly reaching the place where normal law abiding Americans will need to ignore the dictates of an atheist, tranny promoting legal system.

Then you are finding what you want to find, not what is actually there. Grow up

I think both actions are wrong. I am amzed the supreme court said this action in Maryland can go on.

You shouldn't be surprised. It's the separation of Jesus and state for the left. They love them some Mohammedans.

Yeah? Well I bet you wouldn’t have said that to Pat Tillman’s face.

Melt.

No one favors "outright" religion (which is a term you just made up, so I'm defining it the way I want) - but we mention God on the money. Each House of Congress has a chaplain. The military has chaplains.

This voluntary expression of faith is in no way an establishment of nor a inhibition of the exercise of religion of non-believers.

FFS - it isn't Muslims or (practicing) Jews who bitch about this - it is ALWAYS the fricking athiests. Don't say the prayer if you don't want to. Skip "under God" in the anthem. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

But saying that students in Alabama can't recite the Lord's Prayer before a football game (or an invocation) because atheists from Wisconsin will be offended is LITERALLY RETARDED (with all due respect and no offense intended to folks with intellectual disabilities).

So you’re excluding progressives?

Actually I am. I only wish to offend, for purposes of my post in this thread, those specific retarded atheists from FFRF.

So, that subset of progressives, I suppose.

Question: Why do some atheists expend sooo much effort, time and money hating something that they believe doesn't exist?

As we've seen on this very board, some posters think we should kill terrorist's entire families, Old Testament style. It doesn't matter if something is real, what matters is if people believe it's real.

Why do they want to force their unbelief on others?

Contrary to what you think, a blank sheet of paper isn't "atheistic". Its a moment of silence, not a recital of atheist quotes or something.

What likely happened is that school admin (who are paid for by tax payer money) were leading prayers. It's no different from them leading Muslim prayers. Students can pray however they want.

Nothing heroic about this.

Honestly, as an atheists, I hate the MFers that act like hearing someone talk about Jesus is going to cause their skin to melt off.

You see a relation between people who WANT to pray praying where others happen to hear it and FORCING someone else to actually participate?

Are you fricking retarded?
