Sessions was beating the illegal immigration drum back when Trump was still hiring them to work at his properties. He opposed the Clintons when Trump was inviting them to his wedding. People called Sessions an extremist wingnut for years, and then he became the first major politician to support Trump, the man who showed that you could win a national election based on a platform eerily similar to what Sessions had been running on for years. (Minus the warhawk foreign policy.) Now Sessions has been thrown out like a used Kleenex by exactly the sort of conservative movement he had hoped would come along for years.

Man alive, people have short memories.

Yep, I agree with him in this.

Too bad he took that vacation after leaving us.

I don't get all the Session's hate... first major politician to endorse Donald J Trump, when Trump was viewed as a joke by much of the country.

The dude has been a Hardline conservative his entire career... you won't find a better voting record in the Senate than Jeffrey Beauregard Sessions... his appointment as attorney general who was a great illustration of the Peter principal at work

Don't mean to be disrespectful, you seem to be a decent person, but you are someone who has said that he will vote for Jones and you are defending Sessions.

Hmmm.

McCain, Romney and Kasich all of a sudden comes to mind.

Sessions folded and he was largely responsible for that Mueller shitshow being initiated. He had his chance and he crumbled like a weakling IMO. I lost all respect for him then.

Don't get me wrong, I think Sessions stands for absolutely awful things. This is the guy who said he thought the KKK was alright until he found out that some of them smoked marijuana. He and I are completely opposite on almost every issue.

I just find it hilarious and a form of ironic justice that Sessions ran for years on a platform that the GOP establishment was convinced would never sell outside of Turnip Truck, Alabama, and then, when it turned out that such a platform was actually the key to success, Sessions wound up despised by the same hardliners that had always supported him because he was insufficiently loyal.

Shakespeare couldn't have written it better.

Well then I guess I'm in the same boat as Bill Kristol and David Frum, which makes me throw up in my mouth a little.

I'm just over this primary in general. And, over the Alabama elections in general.

I mean shite. I support Trump but every fricking political ad has seemed like some sort of weird game where they figure out how many times they can say the words Donald Trump inside of 60 seconds.

As for the Senate race, Byrne's adds are unfrickingbearable and frankly, Coach is a fricking empty suit.

We're gonna beat Jones but meh
