Not flag related, history related. Big difference

Bathrooms are neither and boycotts rained down. NFL is too scared of controversy to play in Mobile with this legislation, should it be signed into law.

The NCAA is thinking about stripping the National Championships from Bama and Auburn for this stunt. I can feel it.

Yea, but alot of people do and alot of people also care about college football. Politics can be used against the state and neither Alabama nor Auburn want negative publicity regarding their programs. Trust me, this will be used as a negative tool of recruitment against the state as a whole.

In that case I fully support this bill!

Pro-Life means we don't abort an unwanted monument.

That means this guy, his house, the hotel named after him and the town outside of Mobile named for him are safe. Good news

Semmes is a member of the Alabama Hall of Fame. One of the streets on the current Louisiana State University campus carries his full name in his honor, as is Semmes Avenue in Richmond, Virginia.[citation needed] There is a life sized statue of Admiral Semmes in Mobile.

Displaying these Confederate monuments is a protected right under the 1st Amendment.

I don't want morons tearing down these monuments, but this has nothing to do with the First Amendment.

Still, chalk one up in the win column.

The monuments celebrate a bad cause. If you want them for history, stick them in a museum. If you want them for heritage reasons, i can think of 1,001 other things to represent 400 years of Southern heritage. Not celebrating people related to the worst four years of Southern and US history.

I hope my grand state of Florida passes something similar to cover all historical monuments.

Well, expect to see more bills like this in various states.

Four statues are sacrificed so others can live on.
