JD is a snake who should do the honorable thing and bow out early for 2028 and rally support for Rubio.
Knowing him, he won't do that though and it'll lead to the Dems taking over again.

On the one hand Vance is obviously lying that he doesn’t endorse non-American candidates, but it’s the smart play. If it wasn’t for the Iran war, which is widely unpopular and being fought on behalf of Israel, we’d be in a a better position at home. Core inflation (inflation without food and energy) is at like 2.3% and that means Trump’s other economic policies are working and if the pipelines were secure, and if the straits were completely open, we’d almost certainly have interest rates in the 5s and republicans would be looking at an incredibly easy midterm. Vance, who it’s been reported opposed the war privately to Trump at the start, is using this opportunity to distance himself from it and Israel. He has attacked Israel before in the press, and he’s positioning himself well against Rubio in the 2028 presidential election, especially if repercussions from the war are still going on.
Trump meanwhile is being Trump. Just incredibly brave and steadfast in his desire to make this country stronger. He has never once retreated from his decision to attack Iran. It’s the same spirit that got Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court after the sexual assault accusation. Any other Republican president would have abandoned Kavanaugh and put someone else up, but Trump saw it through.
Ultimately who is right is 100% going to be decided by the war effort. If we get regime change in Iran, Vance will have no chance against Rubio in 2028. If we have suffered an economic collapse because of strains on supply lines, Vance will be well positioned to advocate for nationalism in a post-Trump America by decoupling it from the Iran war. Those are two extreme outcomes and the likely outcome will be in the middle, but God bless Trump for being so heroic, and hats off to Vance for making a bet
