All mentioning the FCC did was give ABC an out, make Kimmel a liberal martyr, and give the progressives a talking point.

I gotta agree with this. Whoever brought up the FCC first made a serious blunder.

That being said, when I read this quote, I saw it as him saying the shooter was MAGA. Another valid interpretation, though, is that he was criticizing the right for basically coming up with any narrative they could as long as it denied even the possibility that he was MAGA.

He's got a team full of writers with years of experience in the English language that know exactly how things will be interpreted.

They were likely very deliberate in how the "joke" was phrased to give themselves cover for how it reads in text, but if you watch how the "joke" was delivered, you can see what they really meant.

He was absolutely trying to say that the shooter was related to MAGA.

No, by claiming they were trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it. I watched it happen on this board. I watched as narratives came out claiming the murderer was a Trump supporter, and the reaction on the board just as Kimmel described.

The murderer doesn't have to have been liberal or MAGA for the Trump supporters' overblown reaction as Kimmel described. They just freaked the frick out just like they always do. So the Magatards were right. That still doesn't mean Kimmel lied. The Magatards reacted as he described - I saw it here.

Which is exactly true.

So what was his intent?

Correct. But suggesting it or implying it and coming out and straight up saying it are two very different things. IMO, ABC had enough to pull the plug on him even if you read his statement as OP reads it. I think the effort to stretch his statement as an affirmative and unequivocal statement is unnecessary and shows, perhaps, a belief that ABC was not justified in pulling the plug if the statement was anything less than that.

The fact Kimmel lied, a bald-face lie, no question about it, lied his arse off, doesn't mean he lied?

That's some Jasmine Crockett logic right there.

So just so I understand, your position is that what he said is okay because of “what you saw” on an anon message board?

The right and maga, who has been villainized for a decade, characterized as Nazi, violent, racist bigots. A group of citizens who have been demonized for their beliefs, and when conversatives brightest voice is violently extinguished, you think the right stating there’s no possible way a fellow conservative killed Kirk is a “new low” and is somehow scoring political points?

And you truly can believe that nonsense?

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

here's the bottom line sinclair which owns 193 affiliate stations and nexstar which owns over 200 affiliate stations informed ABC they would not carry the show. so in little rock that's channels 4,7 and fox that's NBC, ABC and FOX.

ABC didn't have a choice plus the show was bleeding red ink. they were paying him 15mm and his wife 4mm to executive produce the show. he should of had the common sense to keep his mouth shut and put a phucking muzzle on his wife. she;'s the one that writes all his anti trump stuff.

No, not a reaction to that. Read it again.

You also seem to be a bit over-emotional about the issue as it seems to be inhibiting your reasoning and understanding.

I tried to stay away from the board for the most part because it was extremely overheated. It appears to still be so. People have lost their heads over someone who apparently very few followed, and many thought ill of before his passing.

Immediately after the incident, I searched the board for "Charlie Kirk" to find older posts to see who he was and how he was viewed by the board. Those older posts were not always exactly flattering to Kirk.

This is a hot take.

I just looked at kimmels ratings.

He was hemorrhaging money.

Did anyone run to this guy’s defense after telling an actual funny joke?

“The Left was trying hard to paint James Earl Ray as anything other than a progressive fan of African American equality!”

He wasnt funny and hadnt been in decades.

To hear people say he wasn't trying to pin this on MAGA is retarded.

Who is being emotional here? The media has already moved on from the Kirk assassination and can't stop fricking crying about Jimmy Kimmel.

Disney, who might very well be the single most left-wing corporation on earth fired him. Not Trump. Not the so-called "right". Disney. Did you weep for Tucker when Fox fired him? Or Rosanne when ABC fired her? Or Rush when ESPN fired him? No, you didn't.
