It could very well be unconnected, but this scenario reminds me too much of the New Orleans attacker on New Year’s Eve.

Taking on someone with zero fear of death isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s easy to speculate what you would or wouldn’t do. People that train regularly have better chances in situations such as this one.
You’re not going to walk up to someone in this situation and simply demand he put his gun down. That’s how you end up being killed. You just put the guy down and be done with it.

From what I just saw. He came from the dead NYPD policeman's home. 2 kids his wife is pregnant with their third baby. The Mayor said it reminded him of the grieving screams of someone so full of grief they pray to God and say no, it can't be true.

Used ALPR (licensed plate readers) to track him from LV to NYC. Anytime he passed by a camera they have it. So they know which route he took.
