What’s disingenuous is saying the fcc made this decision.

They did not.

But, what’s the point of having a regulator of public airways if nobody wants them to regulate?

Are you aware that Nexstar has a major merger pending FCC approval at this moment? Try and keep up and you won't look quite so dumb.

So the FCCs job is to decide what speech is appropriate and who gets to say it.

Is it?

If they were really concerned with government action, do you think they might have actually had a conversation?

Jimmy was funny years ago. He became too political and arrogant to think his audience would listen to his crazy political views. His show was awful over the past 5 years. He is washed up comedian.

Well that puts that narrative to bed.

Do you actually believe this moves the needle at all to the left? Just like Tyler Robinson being a far-right MAGA groyper who shot Kirk because he wasn't right-wing enough, the "Trump's FCC had Kimmel taken off the air" narrative is now 100% factual to them.

Wow Another Democrat hoax

I'm Shocked

Everything they do is a hoax. Everything.

If they're all saying something in unison, there's a high likelihood that whatever they're saying is 20% truth at maximum.

It's a massive propaganda machine and, unfortunately, many of their sheep are too far gone to be reformed.

Did they ever claim a direct call was made?

I thought they were just using the FCC Chairman's remarks on a podcast as a veiled threat to take Kimmel off the air?
Of course. And obvious to anyone being objective.

You just doubled down on stupid as you just admitted it was in the end a business decision by abc/dizney.
Thanks for the self own. Keep it up.

This isn't a good example of such. When the head of the major federal bureaucracy in charge of regulating you says things out loud like he did, you can bet your arse the regulated industries are listening, regardless of it was an "official point of contact" or not.

It's fake news that you are calling this fake news.

Democrats don't care. They're still gonna blame Trump. They never want to know the actual truth. The truth isn't part of their lexicon. They don't care. They want to convince you of their truth, and if you don't agree with them, they'll Hurley insults at you. They are to just be ignored.

Senators and congressmen threaten to do things all the time that are not within their power.

The FCC "chairman" is just one of 5 members of the FCC board. He has one vote. The "chairman" position is just administrative and gives him no additional power.

The idea that one unelected dude mouthing off on a podcast forces a company like ABC to act is ridiculous and has no bearing in fact.

same principle then, correct? People intentionally misconstrued this fact to make it look like Trump somehow indirectly fired Kimmel

So the solution is to intentionally miscontrue a point that wasn't even being argued in response?

I haven't followed things too closely but thought the argument from the left was that the government and FCC were "calling" for Kimmel to be taken off air via the FCC chair's podcast comments.

Arguing from the right that there was no physical/direct call from FCC to ABC just seems like trying to win an argument via semantics to score some political points.

FWIW, I think ABC was perfectly fine in taking Kimmel off the air and don't think the FCC or government had much influence over the decision at all.

That's not fake news.

And anyway, I called their narrative a hoax, not fake news. There's a difference. Anyone can spread fake news. A hoax takes coordination.

You're a fricking imbecile. Carr's thumb on the scale played a role in the Nexstar decision which in turn forced the hand of ABC.

Nexstar has a bid in for a 6 billion dollar merger. ABc wanted to raise the stakes and illuminate stupidity. Execs said “No girls jumping trampolines? Cancel him now.”
