Seriously, why do people on this board get so butthurt whenever a mere mention of the word "history" gets brought up in racial discussions?
And, some of that harm is psychological. You ever meet a 40 year old short guy who STILL seems to have a bad case of Napolean complex. I work with one. It literally has fricked him up. He never grew out of it and, it affects his ability to function as well as he's capable of.

There's a lot of shitty white people.
I just have a problem with blaming "societal systems." Either you have racist laws or you have individuals being racist in violation of the law. Why do the race-baiters have a hard time identifying either one? Or are they engaging in a game of collective mind-reading?

It's funny how this study came out because I was literally ABOut to make a thread about how I was fed up with no being able to catch a cab in New Orleans, and how I have to get my white girlfriend to catch a cab for us all the time.
I got so frustrated (it was cold and I was drunk as a skunk
) that I turned to a random white guy and asked him "why do your people treat good people like me so poorly, just because of the color of my skin?" He was speechless.
Pretty esmaculating, to be honest.

Black people will continue to hold it as long as others keep repeating their acts of humiliation that are eeriely similar to acts from centuries ago.
Are you suggesting that the black experience today is in ANY WAY AT ALL comparable to the negro experience of pre-1800's?
Holy blistering frick, Batman!

You know the answer, and it isn't "because we inherently hate you."
I'm not saying it's fair, but let's talk about why that is, if you'd like.

I'll tell you one problem we have to day. Sure, we still have people behave with prejudice. BUT........we also have MANY MANY MANY blacks who are wholly incapable of having a negative interaction with a non-black and NOT assuming it was racially motivated.
Hence, it becomes a self fulfilling personal study. I mean, if every time you have a bad day with a white person, you assume they acted that way towards you because you are black, then you're gonna be of the mind that racism is pervasive and everywhere all the time.
Meanwhile, when I get shitty service, I just assume the waitress sucked.

I'm with you until you said "grew out of it."
I've likened our psychological state that of a battered or raped woman.
Are these psychological states something that we just grow out of ? Or are they things that need therapy and healing?

However, if the results of the OP study are accurate, we are still quite far away from living in a post-racial society.
And I think Blacks want that discussion.
White liberals are the greatest impediment to that ever occurring.
True story: I have never been called a racist by a black man or woman

Sadly, Ive even had a white America cabby in New Orleans tell my buddy and I that we are lucky that he gave us a ride because there isn't a cabby In the city that would pick up.
I've had no problems with black can drivers.
These are just my experiences tho

Rather than teach your children that society is set up to frick them which thereby gives them an excuse to assume all of their failures are someone else's fault, point to examples of people who prove that they can make it.
Dwelling on the former will just frick your kids up and yeah, they may never grow out of it.

You mean all the ones with petty minor drug offenses that are systematically imprisoned harder and stiffer than whites?

Roaad, you're racist.
Ok, you can scratch that off your bucket list now

I remember a show - years ago, 10 12 at least, perhaps even into the 1990s - there was an allegation of racial prejudice among D.C. cab drivers. They took a camera crew and rode with a driver. He was taking calls and was pushing back with the dispatcher, trying to get details on the fare. He picked up a guy at the airport, got him to kind of a sketchy neighborhood - you could see he was hypervigilent. He discussed close calls and actual incidents where he had been robbed and threatened with guns.
A nondescript looking black dude was trying to hail him in kind of a middling neighborhood - he says, "I hope this guy is okay" while scanning all around to make sure the fare wasn't part of a larger group.
The moral of the story? The cab driver was from D.C. and was black. He flat out stated, "I hate driving past a black guy in the cold and rain. If it's a couple or a family, I typically stop, no problem. A single black guy in a suit or otherwise well-dressed is usually no problem. But 1 or more sketchy black dudes, especially at night? I'm sorry, but I have bigger responsibility to go home to my family than to be colorblind."
I couldn't disagree with his practice or his reasoning. There would have been no reason to do so, even if he were white.

True story. I've been called racist by precisely ONE black man in my life and that was because I told the "why do farts smell" joke and he assumed I knew the origins of the joke and hence, was racist.
But, I've had more than a few guilty white liberals tell me I'm racist.
In fact, now that I think about it. I'm MUCH more likely to have a sane conversation about race with a black person than with a liberal white person. It aint even close.

Often comparing 1st time white offenders with career criminals.

Yes lets talk about it, but let's talk about the blacks that work hard, are successful and have seemingly done everything white people have asked them to do so they can stop being racist.
So explain why those folks, and there is a long number of them, still get treated like the gutter kids and felons.
