Imagine if Mexico had a nuclear weapon and a psycho running the country.

We would have already ended that shite with the quickness. Not let it fester for generations and decades.

I have no idea why China and Japan don't go end North Korea, but I do know that it's not the USAs job. Just like if Mexico had a nuke and a psycho I wouldn't expect China to invade.

WHAT? Besides the Union Army and the USA of the Civil War, when did the United States commit horrible atrocities on a scale committed by Japan during WW2?

Well we did engage in civilian warfare with weapons of mass destruction by dropping nuclear bombs on Japanese cities - killing noncombatants, woman, children, radiation poisoning, etc. tough to really claim moral high ground.

Supported Pinochet

Vietnam in general, but carpet bombing Laos and Cambodia, noncombatant countries - and maybe the prettiest places on this planet - into the Stone Age is not viewed favorably outside of US history classes.

And finally, one should look no further than the native America Indian for a rough guide on uncle sams morality - systematically killed, tortured, and raped over an extended period of time.

Although Libya, Iraq, etc prob rounds out the appendix.

Some feel the firebombing of the city of Dresden by the allies was a war crime. There is debate, but upon further look, the city had minimal strategic value and the bombardment was extreme.

I read a story a couple years ago about a few people who were in Hiroshima area for the bomb and then got on a train...to Nagasaki.

Wonder how you say, "jeez, aw c'mon man" in Japanese?

Tsutomu Yamaguchi survived both bombs and lived to be 93. I guess if two separate nukes didn't kill you, there isn't much that can.

I remember practicing bomb drills in first grade. Scary stuff. I think Japan is totally safe. If shooting starts SK is screwed. No nukes just conventional artillery. It still could be very bad.

Agreed. I couldn't imagine that either. We, living here in the USA are very fortunate.

You say that and most would agree with you. But think back to 9-10-2001. No one would have thought that could have happened and most were shocked.

It's illegal for Japan to go to war offensively. In their constitution, if memory serves. They are only allowed to have a self defense force.

Anybody who thinks that the USA committed more atrocities than Imperial Japan is an ignorant jackass that should be deported to Syria.

I stand with Japan. We must protect our allies. In celebration of our alliance, let's look at some of the wonderful people of Japan:

Given that we actually were the first to develop nuclear weapons and as yet are still the only ones to actually use them, will some on here feel like it is our just deserts to get nuked? Just wondering.
What do you think NK would have said about us developing them in the 1940s?
