I don’t remember seeing you before. But surely you have made some dissuasive arguments in those threads, right?…Right? Or could it be that you are too stupid for that so you save your self for insults?

Figure out how to involve Boomers in conservative causes. They need to feel valued. And it will keep them off the street behind BLM, LGTBQ, Palestine, covid etc activities. Your parents need this help.

Typical boomers. Blaming us for their failures. Y'all were the generation that was entirely born with a silver spoon. America was at their peak. And what did you jackasses do? Well you gave us the rise of China, Most Favored Nation for China. You gave us Obama and George Bush's endless wars with people in tents and mountains. You tanked General Motors and Chrysler. You tanked General Electric. You taught that everything was offensive. You gave us Joe Biden. You gave us the 2025 price of a college education, the single most inflated good in the country. You gave us helicopter parents. You gave us "everybody gets a trophy" and grade inflation.

Don't lecture us on your failings. If you're bored, join a country club and play golf or be a grandparent. Get a hunting license becuase hunters contribute far more to the environment than whiny lib environmental groups.

Remember when you point a finger there are three pointng back at you.

You’ve enjoyed a pension almost longer than your entire career, traveling and enjoying expensive toys, your family apparently still visits you and you are in good enough health to still live in your own home independently. What exactly is it that you are unhappy about? That you aren’t the center of attention in society?

You’ve lived a life that most people only dream of and has become increasingly unattainable; take the W and be grateful.

I am right on the line between boomer and GenX. And I have been conservative well before any of you disrespectful pricks were born.

As stated in another topic last month, lumping generations together and calling one out shows immaturity and a lack of thinking.

worth responding to, "called them baby killers when they came back from Vietnam"

I was fully in ROTC at LSU

My draft lottery number was 121

I took the physical twice at the custom house on canal street in NO, UTI failed me both times

I aced the mental exam portions both times because if drafted, I did not want to be a grunt. The trick question was a picture of a tank carburetor for id.

We attended church at the US housing base in Yokohama Japan for a year.

As a civilian on the Persian gulf for 8 year, we opened our house to US military for thanksgiving and Christmas home style celebrations

My wife was the choir director at the Camp Doha Kuwait military base Friday worship services for 2 years. Got a nice plaque for the wall

Had to sign up for a 4 year call up commitment with the US Coast Guard to receive a captains license.

Most impactful war memorial I have been to was Corrigidor, Philippines

Father was active merchant marines in WW2, North Atlantic.

My best high school friend , Chester, went straight into the army following high school as a medic. He was killed 6 weeks after arriving in Viet Nam.

your grade school slander puts you well in the 80% shallow class

My dad is a boomer and isn’t as shallow and needy as you. In fact, you give boomers a bad name. Nothing about the left jives with anything the boomers went through. You are just needy and need validation and apparently don’t know how to deal with retirement. You don’t speak for boomers. You speak for your own self.

To be fair, Trevalyn made this a "boomer" thread.

Let’s revisit this.

You’re 77 and next year at 78, you will have received more retirement checks than payroll checks. So rough assumptions here, you started working at 18, worked a 30 year career, retired at 48, and have now enjoyed a pretty cushy retirement of almost 30 years? You’re bored! Man was never intended to sit on his arse in some weird middle aged adolescence for multiple decades. This actually was so enlightening about some Boomer mindsets

Back to page 1, Why are so many Boomers, grey haired showing up at leftist demonstrations? Because "needy and validation" are issues that lasts to the point of being a vegetable and entering Hospice. You live long enough and you may understand.

This narcissist is not representative of boomers. My dad joined the Air Force out of high school during Vietnam then worked at a chemical plant for 35 years before retiring. He at no point was ever liberal nor ever instilled in us the desperate need for attention that treveylin is wanting. Work hard, keep your head down and earn your way through life is the lessons he taught us. Not abandon your principles to feel needed after living a privileged life.

Treveylin is just a sad person who is one of those guys my dad refers to as failing in retirement. He has no one to lord over and no one seeks wisdom for him so his own selfish desires he trades his morals for validation. He’s a perfect liberal.

The 12 you see is outnumbered by the millions born in that era. Stop projecting your selfish desires on an entire generation. Most boomers are enjoying retirement and being grandfathers. You failed.

My dad is 2 years older than you. He’d kick your arse for daring to insinuate his people were as pathetic as you.

"he is a perfect liberal". My daughter received her doctorate in vocal music from UT Austin. She is a perfect liberal. Could you please tell her I am a perfect liberal. Perhaps she would friend me on Facebook.

Pathetic!! You need some hobbies!!

I’m 74. I fish, hunt, and play golf. My son calls me nearly everyday. I FaceTime my grandchildren. I own a small RV and love to camp. I enjoy yard work. I go to church every Sunday and most Wednesday Bible studies.

When my phone rings, I may or may not answer it, depending on who it is.
I’m a proud conservative! MAGA!

So your volunteering for liberal causes is A) a desperate attempt to still feel needed and B) a desperate attempt to connect with your daughter.

Maybe this isn’t a boomer thing. Maybe this is a you having personal problems thing. The only thing you’ve proved is a desperation to feeling wanted. Not a referendum on your generation. Again, my dad would tell you to act like a fricking man.

Well then my response was appropriate. Folks throw the boomer thing out readily, and yes it captures a bunch of lib hippies that are reliving their protesting days. But the boomer generation also consists of Nam lost folks and vets. They experienced hell that you or I cannot comprehend. To casually throw out the term boomer as a lump all is idiotic and shows a lack of knowledge regarding history. And it shows a great deal of disrespect.

Very similar story. My dad is a boomer as well and was fortunate to start his career at a company that had a defined benefit retirement plan. He hated that job for years but he went everyday because it offered job security for a man with no college. He retired at 50 with a pension and full medical, but he’s worked a variety of PT jobs, enjoys his hobbies, active in his church, close with his kids and grandkids, stood by his wife as she battled cancer twice… I could call him tonight if I needed something and he’d be here from several hours away by morning. His hands shake now but the man is steady as a rock.

The idea that he’d go join up in some liberal protest group because they beat drums and make him feel special would disgust him.

I haven't lost anything friend. I am one of the last boomers. We don't sell our soul for money as you have. Pathetic you are!
