I wouldn't want 'boy' power anyways. It'd have to be something cooler like 'dude' power, 'nacho' power or even...CHAD power.

Someone offering a shirt for sale isn't telling you who to celebrate. You can celebrate anything you want unless you are so weak minded that you think a saying on a tshirt is a direct order.

Here is a story related by Clay Travis:

As they walked into a Target store past some displays up front, his 9y/o said "They'll never do that for us." They stopped. Travis said "They'll never do what?"

His son pointed at the "Girl Power" display rack they'd just walked past. "They'll never do that for us with 'Boy Power' stuff."

Its an absolute travesty, I teach my sons every day what a great thing it is to be a "southern gentleman".

I am confident in the future we can look back and see what a horrible thing was done to white men in this era. Dehumanizing on a grand scale.

Interesting take. /s

The corollary to your denialism is that Clay Travis has a book out (that the son in question would obviously have access to) which recounts the story. So you're premise is the story is not only made up, but made up in a way the son would know his Dad is lying.

Seems implausible to me. But deny as you feel you need to.

I found the podcast btw.

Podcast - Go to ~1:08:20 to get to the Travis segment

Beck: Alright, we've got Clay Travis here wrapping up the hour. Clay, before we let you go, you had this story from the other day that just... man, it stuck with me. Tell the folks about your boy at Target.

Travis: Yeah, Glenn, it's one of those moments where your kid drops truth bombs you weren't ready for. So, we're walking into Target— you know, the usual Saturday errand run. Past those big front displays, the ones they load up with all the trendy stuff. My 9-year-old suddenly stops, looks up at me, and says, "Dad, they'll never do that for us."

Beck: [chuckling] What? You're like, "Do what, buddy?"

Travis: Exactly. I stop dead, turn around: "What do you mean, son?" He points right back at this massive rack—it's all "Girl Power" gear. T-shirts with fists pumping, posters saying "Future is Female," empowerment kits, the works. Bright pink, front and center. And he goes, "They'll never do a 'Boy Power' display like that for us." Just like that. Nine years old, and he's clocking the imbalance. Broke my heart a little, but it fired me up too.

...

Beck: That's the stuff that keeps me up at night, Clay. We're force-feeding "girl boss" everything to our daughters—love that, don't get me wrong—but our boys? They're getting side-eyed as "toxic" before they even hit double digits. Target's got the Pride mess, now this? It's not just shelves; it's the message. Boys need heroes, not handouts or apologies.

Travis: Spot on. Look, I've got three boys, and they're sponges. They see Disney scrubbing dads, schools pushing "smash the patriarchy" from kindergarten. No wonder enrollment's crashing—dads are checking out because why fight a system rigged against you? We need "Boy Power" aisles: strength, adventure, leadership without the guilt trip.

If one of my friends when I was in 3rd grade showed up to school or a sleepover with a “Boy Power” shirt, he would’ve been made fun of through high school.

Boys and young men are having problems in America , but. “Girl Power”
isn’t one of them.

It is if "Girl Power" is being driven by "Boys Bad/Weak," including a purposeful dearth of positivity for boys and young men.

Both happen and it happens even more for boys and young men who are white, male and straight as all three categories are positioned (generally) as the target for "girl power" to fight back against.

That is the take home message. As a conceptual additive, the "Girl Power" thing would never phase boys. But as it's now used as a subtractive comparator to effectively demean boys, it does have an effect.
