The only people who would take Joe's comments as racist in any way don't like him to begin with. He uses "ain't" regularly....it's part of his common man theme. Much like taking public transit down to DC from Delaware as his main means of commuting.

Every politician has gaffes. It's been proven that Russian operative amplify and drive views, RT's, shares,etc. on social media for some of these gaffes. No idea if they're behind this one, but to dismiss it as a possibility is a bit naive.
