If you decline a job (especially your old one), isn't your unemployment revoked?

Explain how this is Trump's fault?

Pretty sure GOP raised the issue and Dems raised hell about fixing it.

Unemployment benefits are paid for up to 39 weeks. The added $600/week is only for four months.

quote:

It includes a $600 weekly increase for up to four months, on top of state benefits.

The extra $600 payment will last for up to four months, covering weeks of unemployment ending July 31.

But under the federal relief law, everyone will get an additional $600 a week until July 31.

Now Zahrin and LSURussian have attempted to dispel republican actions on the bill that created this $600 bill.

It was HR748. In the Senate it was S3548.

Mnuchin was directed by the President to get something out of Congress for him to sign quickly. Working with McConnell and Schumer they introduced a bill in the Senate on the 19th.

On the 25th the Senate was set to vote to approve the bill after prodding by Trump.

On the 25th 4 republicans Senators realized the horrible flaw in the bill. This aritcle is from that dayThey offered up an amendment to correct it.

The Senators called it a drafting error.

McConnell said “the Senate is going to stand together, act together, and pass this historic relief today.”

Sanders did in fact threaten to stand in the way. A threat minus the White House pressure I think the republicans would have welcomed.

McConnell under pressure from the White House and with the language helping the special interest sunscreen manufacture in Kentucky in the bill made sure the amendment would not pass. The Senate version of the bill went to the House as promised that day.

On the 27th with the objection of Thomas Massie the Senate voted by out cry to pass the now House bill and sent it to the President and Trump signed it the same day. Graham boasted the vote was unanimous.

Clearly the republicans were not going against the President.

This is nothing more "dishonest" than claiming this bill was solely a product of democrats and that republicans acted in a conservative way.

So if we want to measure honesty of posters somehow we really should acknowledge that any poster defending republicans in general on this issue are simply wrong.

I wasn't doubting you I was simply saying the article was wrong. Ten weeks is technically wrong too I suppose.

Why did you leave this quote out which is in your link from your lying post?
quote:

The (Republican) senators demands to get this fixed has sparked immediate pushback from their Democratic colleagues. “Let's not over-complicate this,” tweeted Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT). “Several Republican Senators are holding up the bipartisan Coronavirus emergency bill because they think the bill is too good for laid off Americans.”
That quote was directly above the Sanders quote you posted. Yet you just pretended it wasn't there.

You really are a lying, dishonest, deceitful POS.

I'm not a Republican. And you're not truthful. a-hole. I hope an admin bans you. The sooner, the better.

Ok---clearly the democrats were for it. Does anyone dispute that? I mentioned Sanders only to acknowledge what Zahrim said.

Should I be upset because you said 10 weeks??? and that was wrong.

I said

quote:

I think the federal $600 can go as long as 39 weeks
It sounded not so right to me when I read it but I had read it and gave you link.

I was pointing out that 4 Republican senators tried to amend the bill to make the $600/week the maximum, not an additional amount.

You wrote earlier that you only knew about Graham and some Republicans wanting to "correct" what passed AFTER the bill was passed and signed into law. YOU WERE WRONG ABOUT THAT.

The Dems told McConnell it was $600 additional or no deal. He caved. But the point was some Republicans tried to change it before the bill passed.

Are you really so stupid that you can't remember what the whole point was earlier today that started this back and forth??

Or, are you so obtuse that you just want to change what the disagreement is about since you've been bitch slapped with the facts?

You are worse than Toddy. Think about that for a while. Congratulations.

I will gladly comply with any forum rule I have unknowingly violated.

If speaking ill of Trump or republican minions voting for this huge bill is a bannable then let me know.

If being sworn at and insulted and called UnAmerican in almost every single thread is ok, my simple correction of what I perceived to be your defense of republicans should be ok too but I may be mistaken.

that is true. I was wrong--by a matter of mere hours.

Four republicans--4---brought it up on the day of the vote. McConnell did sure the amendment did not pass (if he thought it would pass he never would have brought it to the floor on that day.)

You're sworn at because you constantly lie. You lie about links you've posted. You lie about quotes you post and what other posters quote. You lie about what I've posted.

You lie. A lot.

Your thread earlier today was so obviously a lie that it got anchored. That should already tell you that you're on the admins radar. Keep lying and you'll be gone. Good riddance.

You are correct. You said 16 weeks. The bill says are you pointed out July 31st. That may be 16 weeks. Nonetheless--it doesn't piss me off.

I then posted links to several articles, none of which said 16 weeks.

Stop lying.
