Fake news.

And the people who believe it have an IQ less than 70.

You have studies showing clear correlation between mask and/or vaccine mandates and the virus spread? Where?
KN-95 or N-95 masks "work" to prevent some spread. Cloth masks are garbage. I also find it plausible that a mask can prevent hugging and kissing, which would have some effect. But I don't care about the masks. I care about the vaccine.

Delta is a lot more infectious, although perhaps not as lethal.

I don't know about "vaccine mandates" - all I can say is you can clearly observe states/areas with 70% vax rates vs those with 40%. The difference in infection rate as well as acuity is quite stark. What is your interest in denying this reality?

My issue is with the general mandates and the masks.

From what I've seen, I agree that vaccination has legitimate positive effects. I don't know that governmentally "mandating" it has positive effects. It seems like there is a group it serves more to turn off.

I perhaps should have ben clearer.

Masks are all but useless for anything. Mandates for them border on being diabolical.

At this late date, I think the mask shite is mostly performative also.

I just don't like acting as if mandated vaccines haven't been a part of all of our lives for many decades. In the past, government vaccine mandates have been transformational for public health and societal advancement. Why is this so different? Also, many countries that people like to visit have vaccine mandates just to past customs...I and they have happily done that many times over the years. Why is now so different?

I agree that it "turns off" some groups - but I would submit they are loony idiots just being hyper-partisan over something that shouldn't even be. I wish Trump would just command the drones to get the damned vaccine - he certainly got it.

Rich Baris has been talking about how they are manipulating polls again, using Adults instead of Registered or Likely Voters.

The poll that had Biden at 49% approval from NBC, only 77% were registered voters.

To be fair, this might make more effective sense polling-wise given 2020.

The AP-NORC poll of 1,729 adults was conducted Aug. 12-16 using a sample drawn from NORC’s probability-based AmeriSpeak Panel, which is designed to be representative of the U.S. population. The margin of sampling error for all respondents is plus or minus

Funny how few people on here believe the poll just because they still live in a small conservative town. Most Americans live in big cities where Covid has been a bigger problem. Not surprising at all.

This shouldn't be a polling issue. The opinions of average Americans shouldn't matter on issues of medical and public safety.

I do. The Americans of generations past would have strung up power-hungry authoritarians like Fauci, Cuomo, Whitmer and JBE. Now we are a nation of fat, lazy and stupid people who want the perception of total safety and don't mind becoming slaves to achieve it.
