In part, yes. But also the wealthy who have used their money to influence and enrich our lawmakers.

I disagree. I believe it is the fiscal irresponsibility of our government that is mostly to blame. Let's not forget what happened after the financial crash of 2008, and who ended up with all the bailout money. HINT: It wasn't the poor.

Let's face it, the rich run this country, not the poor. And if you're the one running things, you're the one responsible for how things are run.

A Democrat can't be a Christian.

You should abstain from using God in your ramblings.

This is an interesting thing to say coming from a person who has been spamming the shite out of this thread trying to convince us how God like they are

You think giving thanks to God is being "God-like"?

Hmmmmm...

What god do you think God is thankful to?

Roger accused me of being a taker. I submit that we are all takers as God is the giver of all things. I'm sorry if you have a problem with that. It wouldn't surprise me to find that you still consider yourself a Christian, though.

We need a fair tax . Just a sales tax and no income tax . This will never pass because it would make big spenders pay more taxes .

So they are responsible for all of the trillions spent on the poor. Fine. But they do that because the poor still vote and garner the sympathy from other voters. If they could get their shite together hundreds of billions less would be spent.

Yet... people say "the rich" aren't paying their "fair share". "The rich" are the only ones left paying taxes.

Nope. Voters keep re-electing politicians the bring home more freebies. I see no appetite among voters to elect politicians that will effectively cut the spending. How do you reckon a candidate that campaigned on deeply cutting Social security, medicare, medicaid and defense would do?

If so, they're really, really doing a bad job of it.

The sad thing is that we knew this in 2012. Even Mitt Romney warned of it tipping over and becoming unsustainable.

But, No one did shite to correct it,& now it's about to crash and burn.

Yep. The 2011 CBO outlooks are entertaining to read. They painted a pretty bleak picture. Then we lost our collective minds on COVID spending. It's over. It's only a matter of when it goes up in flames.

It's worse than that. A big chunk of that 57% got the EIC 'free money.' I think the amount has even been doubled.

You are right The government employee is a 100% net tax taker. The minimum wage McDs employee at least has withholding taken out. The minimum wage McDs employee is literally paying the government worker and are better than.

What a dumb take. Your taxes pays for the goods and services the government employee provides, just like the value meal you just bought pays for the fast food employee’s wage.

The difference is the amount you pay for the government employee depends on how much you make, where the McD’s everyone pays the same amount for the Value Meal.

Also, government employees pay taxes too.

Apples to oranges comparison.

How many social safety nets were there during the first 100 years of this country?

Saying he's part of the 57% without saying he's part of the 57%.

I'd vote to triple your taxes if I could. Don't get mad, you've already said freeloaders have no bearing on your pursuit of happiness.

They used the poor to set the whole thing up. "Equity" was the push behind lending to people who had no business being approved.

Do you think the poor ultimately footed the bill?

There will always be people who had a bad roll of the dice, and I have no issue helping those people. But there are too many people who are just too lazy and have flat out made shite decisions their entire lives. The workers on this board are just tired of supporting them.
