Repeal the 17th amendment amendment. Let states appoint senators so that states have a say in the rules/laws/budget they have sent to them by the federal government.

#3 is a nonstarter.

You could give some schools overwhelming amount of funds and the performance won’t change a lick.

My district, OTOH, has majority black students but is #1 in the state because everyone cares and pushes forward and the schools are funded by property tax AND an additional sales tax.

EBRPS are highly funded yet the only achieving schools are the magnet schools which contain the best of the best within the district concentrated into three schools.

Already tried by Ann Richards in Texas. It was called Robin Hood. Horrible failure. It got GW Bush elected Gov. Kansas City was also forced to do it by local judicial dictate, not legislation. Horrible failure. When you pour outside money into ghetto schools you get no improvement.

The Texas plan also was in response to a court order, and it wasn’t Ann Richards, it was the Texas Legislature in 1993. She was just along for the ride. And I don’t think it had anything to do with her losing to George W. Bush (more so her opposition to concealed carry).

The Texas Constitution bars a state property tax, so local entities must be the ones to levy and collect them. The state caps property taxes, and schools sued recently that by doing so, the state was engaging in a form of property tax, but the schools lost that lawsuit.

Unions are corrupt, like every other institution, but they have their place.

Term limits for all political office, that will slow down the corruption.

I love sports and I love politics.

24 hour, around the clock, sports and political shows are ruining both. National news at 5:00, and local news at 10:00 worked out fine when I was growing up.

-Abolish the IRS, income tax and property tax. Move to flat sales tax and make all other taxes use based.

-End the war on drugs and decriminalize them.

-End the fed.

-Term limits on all elected positions.

-Eliminate 30% of all government agencies and all foreign aid.

6.) The abolishment of the term "race" as a defining metric for any and all things not medical or historical from any and all public standards.

If you did that all this secular crap would end in two weeks.

Where are folks prevented from having an education? Prison?

Based on numerous 60 minute and Frontline shows, it seems like people get a better education in prison than on the outside.

We would honestly be better off with an uneducated populace than the “education” people are receiving from public schools right now.

Education is important in the sense that it’s important to have a literate population who can, in turn, learn things for themselves. Education wasn’t designed to be a liberal indoctrination program run by a bunch of 2.3 college GPA Karens. Kids are playing on iPads starting at 1 year old now, literacy isn’t an issue anymore like it was in 1620.

School money should be distributed to parents in the form of vouchers and let a competitive market determine where people go.

That sounds great on the surface but schools have limited capacity. If everyone wants to get into one of five schools in the area how would you determine who got in? You can’t just shift students from one school to the other based on demand driven by quality. You also can’t determine school access based on the highest bidder— that simply perpetuates the issue at hand.

Weirdo...

I had a medical condition that necessitated surgery, which prevented me from conceiving.
Adoption wasn’t an option.
But that was God’s plan!

That's what private schools are for.

Police shouldn't be allowed to shoot unarmed civilians, unless they shoot someone who left a shopping cart in a parking space.
