someone posted a link that more than 50% of the children in Alabama are on Medicaid

Feel free to ignore, but f you are interested in more data
LINK
nearly 50 percent of all Medicaid recipients in states Trump won in 2024 are White, non-Hispanic. In deep-red West Virginia, in which 70 percent of the vote was cast for Trump, 86 percent of Medicaid recipients are White.
The claim that the "vast majority" of Medicare recipients are Democrats does not appear to be true. 50/50 seems more reasonable.

Both New York City and Los Angeles each have more medicaid recipients than the state of Louisiana

Why is it so bad in LA?

And that’s why your insurance is so high. The government is supporting 50% of the market and artificially inflating the prices. This doesn’t even count Obama care subsidies. Government is conflating 75% of the market.

JBE expanded medicaid eligibility. He bragged about it.
It’s astounding expansion gets glossed over. Medicaid budget was 8 bil in 2015. It went to $10 bil after expansion because the Feds initially covered 100% for the first couple years.
It’s now $22 billion.

No wonder some hospitals are in a building boom.
Regardless if they are getting it from insurance proceeds, copays, or Medicaid, that is a lot of money in healthcare.

And 44% of employable folks not seeking employment.

It will only get larger. Half the states budget comes from the federal government for Medicaid. You can’t reduce the budget when every state dollar is matched by 4 federal dollars.
The next fiscal session will be epic given the looming deficit.
It will be just like JBE’s first term.
…we can’t reduce the Medicaid budget by 200 million because we’ll lose 800 million in federal funding…education you’re on deck…

At some point we all need to ban together and just stop paying taxes.
They'll just print more money. Now if people would plan sickouts.
It's our labor they need, not our money.

bullshite.
You think a lot of Medicaid patients are pulling a mortgage? What is the income cutoff to be eligible for Medicaid?
quote:
In Louisiana, the income limit for most adults aged 19-64 is less than 138% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL), which is about $16,400 for a single person
You are not floating a mortgage on $16k.

Wow.
This depresses me.
