We’re moving towards a post-work society because greedy boomers haven’t raised wages in line with inflation and cost of living increases. The price of everything has gone up, except labor. That’s why new home ownership is at all time lows, birth rates are at all time lows, etc. Kids living with their parents long into their 20s because they don’t have enough money to buy the things their parents did, thanks to boomer greed.

I'm a millennial, i pretty much fricked off in college and drank most of the time. Grew up with poor public sector parents.

I own my own house, and i live in it by myself. I have 2 cars, one is an Audi S model, despite the fact that i work from home and never drive them. ps5's, oleds, carbon fiber bicycles, all the toys you could want. About to buy some land and build a second home on it, because why not. Oh yea, my girlfriend also has expensive fricking tastes.

If you want to blame boomers, go for it. But if you still live at home long into your 20's, you're either really lazy, or extremely stupid.

If you chose to be a construction laborer or a cook or a lawn mower, your wages are hurt. No doubt about it.

There are tons of blue collar jobs that are skilled and in no danger of being hurt by illegal immigrants.

They make great money. If you're mowing lawns for minimum wage you probably qualify for a full time handler.

Things like home prices, education and healthcare costs have outpaced inflation by a lot. Wages haven't.

So... prices of some things are going up. And you want to raise wages. Which will make the prices of things go up even more. Which will, according to you, necessitate the need for another wage hike. Which will raise prices. Which will... well, you get the idea.

Do you want to lower wages or something? There has to be a breaking point. Real wages haven’t increased in decades.

I make MUCH more than I make decades ago. You don't? If you don't... you are doing something wrong... or you aren't trying.

Real wages means wages adjusted for inflation.

bullshite myth. Kids live at home because they’re lazy and their parents suck.

Can you move out your parents house at 22 into a fully furnished two story house and have every luxury you can imagine with an entry level job? No.

Can you move into a one bedroom apartment and eat easy Mac? Yup.

This proposal replaces the child tax credit, and rebates it throughout the year. So for someone like me with three kids 6,000 of the 9,000 i'd collect is just going to go right back to the federal government.

Why not just lower the fricking tax rates for everyone?

Well we keep printing money like this proposed bill

You think that’s going to help lower the costs of goods? Google “causes of inflation” and then get back to us

It also replaces the child and dependent care credit. I think this child assistance will cost me money.

In the meantime, the federal government will have to create the needed new credit or the system instantly collapses.

Every time the federal government falls short on tax receipts the U.S. sell Treasury Bonds to cover the short fall. And when there are not enough buyers yields (interest rates) would rise substantially but the Federal Reserve ALWAYS step in and buys the T bonds not sold to keep the interest rates low. That's how the federal government "creates" credit (in coordination with the Federal Reserve).

It will only get worse.

True but what is the alternative, instant collapse. The system is very finite a generation or two at most.

The system is more or less a fraud its based on an unsustainable equation i.e. exponential growth the requirement of exponential growth.
