Serious question. How much of this is being directed by Trump/the admin?

He seems to want to put a ton of things into one huge bill to ensure it gets passed, and they seem very cautious about doing too much before that gets passed.

Don't know what the OP is complaining about because Trump wants the "big, beautiful bill" and everything in one package.

I don't know why they didn't at least do tax reform first. Should be relatively easy to get everyone on board and it would calm the markets with all this tariff noise.

Welcome to pretty much most of the past 30 years.

Whenever I think of GOP congress critters anymore , I think of that line in the movie “Office Space”:

“What would you say…,you do here?”

Mike Johnson caved to Anna Paulina Luna and some Dems for something that will certainly be abused in Dems favor in the future when they are voting from nursing homes.

Yeah, Id rather make it a law for a new mother to be physically there to vote and forget about a real budget for the first time in a decade.

Johnson should have stood strong

Republicans are pathetic. They can never get shite done. They need real leadership.

Unfortunately, the democrats play the game amazingly and know how to get it done.

This is why I couldn’t care less about the House in 2026. Mike Johnson is a joke

The GOP leadership in Congress doesn’t know how to pass legislation as well as they know how to oppose legislation.

Trump already told them they’d be punished for not blindly following his agenda.

So they decided to make it easy and transparently give up their legislative responsibilities.

Problem is - Executive Orders are easily repealed.

They have no incentive to get anything done. Unlike ours their paycheck is guaranteed. Maybe if their pay was based on a scoring system once a month done by a team of regular Joe's it might be different.

Midterms won't even matter at this rate because we dont even get shite done when we control both houses.

1000% agree. The republicans are just as shitty as the left, really not much difference.. If the left cut ties with illegals and trannys, the republicans would be in deep shite

Tax cuts won't fix anything. The govt will continue to get bigger, borrow more, print more. Congress needs to slash and burn govt spending, which they apparently will never do

DOGE is doing exactly that.

But, we have a record number of Executive Orders that will surely save us.

And they will continue to accomplish nothing. I firmly believe most Rs are really just Ds that went with the winning side to get elected. The fact that most of these lawmakers are lawyers is further proof of that. I don’t know any lawyers with truly conservative values. Case in point being the cesspool that is LA politics.

Stop electing lawyers and things may change.

None of that has been codified into law. If the government is ever gonna truly cut spending that matters it has to start with SSI Medicare Medicaid and Defense spending

It has to start with the upgraded communication and information in the systems. Again, doge is doing that. It started with SS.....

This is very typical of Republicans. They’re not united on much of anything. The Democrats on the other hand if someone proposed everyone eat dog food twice a day for the rest of our lives, they would all be locked step. It’s gotten really pathetic
