Bernie hates capitalism, the private sector, and pretty much everything the government doesn't have total control over.

I’ve always thought the government should just pay me a living wage so I can just focus on my art.

Goods and services will magically still happen because the politicians said so

What's confusing about that?

Because we are (most men) hard wired for competition and achieving outcomes.

Thats where the fulfillment comes.

Bernie has NO understanding of basic economics

It would seem you don't either. The decrease is potential not absolute.

It will produce another round of infighting amongst the Democrat Party. They not very good at looking ahead to possible complications and backfires.

32 Hour Work Week

But what is everyone supposed to do with those 8 extra hours after tik tok is banned?

Good lord this country is soft. Work less for the same pay. What a deal...unless you're the one that pays.

If full time gets capped at 32 hours, one of several things happens…

1. More people get salaries and get K time (compensatory leave) to cover any time over 32 hours

2. Productivity better increase by about 20% or people start getting cut below full time

3. More jobs get replaced completely or have their duties greatly reduced due to automation to cover for the difference in work hours

None of this will work out how Bernie claims he wants it, but it likely drives more very stupid people into his “capitalism sucks!” camp because they get hurt when this stupidity gets implemented.

That's the established standard across the Pond.

32-hour work week as a national labor mandate.... why not? I think most burnt-out daily drudge workers would say it's a good thing.
So 20% increase in labor costs in producing goods added to our 11% inflation? Brilliant!

Precisely. It speeds up automation and creates a lack of value for human input.

Its going against our own best interest, but most are too dumb to realize it.

It is one of the most unsurprising things imaginable that someone like you would view people who work hard to improve their lives with disdain. What a gross person you must be

Most of us dick around for way more than 8 hours a week. I dont care if you say all the I work 60 hours bull shite. You dont.

Condensing the work week to 32 would see many jobs not have decreases in productivity.

shite, we survived everyone going home and working 20 hours a week in their kitchen.

Now, I dont know how to handle the positions that must be there such as clerks and others.

But I guarantee you when most look at the daily use numbers on their devices you will see you have plenty of time.

Most of the people going for this fall into two camps…

Those who want a permanent unemployed class living on government bennies, as they will vote however the Dems want them to

And useful idiots who will find themselves on the government tit and not caring that they have no future because they can sit around the house getting high and watching the tube.

Most of these dont work 40 hours anyway, and drive for instacart or uber. They just want more money.

We're all destined to be gig workers anyway when this new economy takes off.

The ones that brag about it are what is amazing to me. Not using vacation time, not disengaging at all. I did it for a long long time. Now here I am at 54 trying to think of all the places I need to take my kids and experience stuff that we shouldve done years ago.

I have a large trucking component to my business, I cut my drivers down to 32-34 hours a week and pay them 40. They are much more helpful, much more efficient and help watch out for every one of my dollars now. In busy times they do work 40, but it is pretty rare and even then it is just 3 or 4 of them a week.

There are people who have a lot of repetitive work to do which needs to be done in a period of time and you have the people who are basically on call for when something happens.

The former are constantly working while on the clock. The latter may not be constantly working but are the kind of people who troubleshoot issues as they appear.

And those issues can be resolved quickly or take quite a while to do, but paying an hourly salary beats the frick out of paying a contract where someone comes in and makes certain minimums the second they get a call.

I love this.

It shows how utterly stupid our population really is. They dont have to work any hours, and act like theyre slaves.

Son, you can work 0 hours, 15, 30 or even 100 if you want, thats up to you. Youre not a victim, youre just not capable of advocating for yourself.
