Then why isn’t the death penalty a deterrent?
No chance this is a serious question.

The first and only thing that needs to happen right now is for people to understand and accept that guns are not the problem. Until that happens, frick them and any notion of a discussion.

Coyotes are for common sense gun control. Just saying.

Because very few murders actually get solved. Very few that are solved result in a criminal conviction. Of those convictions, very few have enough evidence to warrant a death penalty. Of those only some ofcur in states where death is an option. Even then, the appeals process can take decades.
Death is not a poor deterrent, but the way we enforce our death penalty peaves a would-be criminal with a near zero percent chance of ever suffering said penalty inside of 20-30 years. There’s no reciprocity in that.

The Supreme Court disagrees. Heller

Bingo. But why choose the hard road of addressing the underlying problem when you can choose the easy road of appeals to emotion and pointless legislation to show you care.

It hasn’t always taken 20 years. The death penalty has been around since biblical times when judgment and sentencing was carried out swiftly. My point is the fear of reciprocity is an illogical assumption. People will kill and won’t give 2 shits about if your carrying or not. Look at Chicago. Every gangbanger has a gun. They all know everyone else is carrying and you think they are fearful of reciprocity...use your head.

As always you forget "the people" is part of that particular right too.

Clearly you are against common sense

Which is why contrary to popular belief, they rarely steal from each other, and instead rob innocent civilians, especially in areas with strict gun control where citizens are least likely to defend themselves.
Besides, the vast majority of “gangbanger” violence is not rooted in hate or desire to harm others but in black market economics. There is no legal means of settling disputes when dealing in illicit products. Violence is the only conflict solver. It would s why prohibition should be abolished.

Lol dude stop your making shite up. I have worked in LEO field for 25 years. Most of it dealing with crime data and statistics. You don’t know what you’re talking about.

So you're saying that it refers to the State's right to keep and bear arms? Just who is the potential infringer we're being warned about?
It's too easy for stupid people to post on the internet in this country.

No.
The Death Penalty isn't a deterrent because 99% of people who commit homicide don't possess the ability of collective forethought and rationalization of their actions beyond the immediate future. They are acting on emotion and instinct. The deterrent argument doesn't work with life in prison for the same reason.
