I was told that the tunnel will remain open so they can order a non toll option to allow “free” interstate travel

It has taken over 3 years for an overpass over a single road in north Huntsville on 231/431.

I did not know that. If you are coming from Arkansas and taking US98 or US45, use the bridge through Africatown. It is actually physically shorter and there is a new bypass from 98 around the north side of town (mostly).
I never go to Mobile at peak times so I am unfamiliar with the various loads.

Rates slowly increase. People billed who didn't know. Rates start to piss off voters. Years down the road State buys out greedy toll takers looking for votes.
