Yep. But eventually there will be nowhere left to go.

At the same time there's really nowhere in the world set up as well as the US economically or geopolitically.

We're impossible to invade because of our geography while owning a massive amount of natural resources. I can't think of many nations that have those 2 things. So they can move on, but the risk in most any other country is far greater than the US. A significant sum of people stick their money in US banks during times of volatility.

Considering there’s only about 2 trillion in actual circulation, that should give you a lot to think out.

Boomers have completely ruined this country. Their lasting legacy will be one of overspending and debt and completely fricking this once great country.

Republicans only care about deficits when they are in the minority. Had four years under Trump to pass a balanced budget and cut spending. Kids future was destroyed long before this bill passed.

If you assume that you were to give every american citizen an ammount of $1400 and the population is approximatly 330m you would only need around $462b that means there is an estimated $1.4t missing and that is taking into consideration that every US citizen got this, not including the non-registerd/non-taxpaying people or those with an income higher than the qualification needed in order to recieve this check. And where do you think that extra money is going?

Please tell me if my math is wrong.

Sure. Let's just ignore the massive growth in deficit spending 2008- onward.

Balancing the budget today would require an almost 40% cut to expenditures. You cannot do that without massive cuts to Social Security and Medicare. If you think that's a politically tenable position-- I suggest you try to campaign on cutting granny's check and healthcare by 30% and see how it goes.

Just our debt service alone guarantees we can never balance the budget again. This was well known as early as 2011. You can read the CBO reports for yourself. The rising deficits 2017 and beyond were entirely predicted.

Indeed. Just keep in mind our deficit was only $160B in 2007. Since then our spending is up 175%.
If we spent today... what we spent in 2007 we'd be running a > $1 Trillion SURPLUS.

Nothing justifies that spending growth. It wasn't like government was inadequate in 2007. Though I did seem to trip over people dying in the streets much more often back then.

This didn’t seem to matter when Trump’s tax cuts went to the wealthy.

You’re a doofus. He doubled the standard deduction, that treats everyone the same. It could be argued that it benefited lower and lower-middle income people more, because those that were itemizing really didn’t see a change...total deductions were the same. For many lower earners who didn’t itemize, their deductions grew significantly.

The lovely left...no logic, critical thought, or intelligence, simply emotion and repeating false talking points.

Being a Libertarian is the most frustrating thing in the world. You have to sit and watch as BOTH parties argue over pointless social issues while they eagerly spend us into oblivion. If you voted for Republican or Democrat, this is your fault. We’ve tried to warn you and you haven’t listened.

Obama entered office with a national debt of 10.7 Trillion. Trump left office with a National Debt of 27 Trillion.

60% of all dollars in circulation were created from a printer in the past 12 years.

Govern yourselves accordingly. This won’t be pretty.

A balanced budget would have to be partisan. Democrats will never vote to cut their money to buy voters.

Not sure what I said was funny. 90% of our population is literally playing the fiddle like Nero as our country burns. It’ll probably take the collapse of the dollar for the sheeple to finally figure out what they’ve done. But hey, maybe it’ll work out! I mean it did for Zimbabwe and the Weimar Republic.

Right. Why does responsibility for balancing the bigger lie solely with Republicans?

When did Democrats propose anything closer to balanced budget? When did republicans block a democrat president’s balanced budget request? What democrat balanced-budget plan did Republicans block?

That has never happened that I can recall.

Ultimately blaming either party is folly. The real blame lies with us... the citizens and voters that demand ever-more government spending.

Any politician proposing significant meaningful cuts is DOA. And the current Congress enjoys a >90% re-election rate. Why the hell would get stop spending?

The voters love it.
