No surprise about the Georgia senators. A no vote would have been political suicide. Also no surprise that both Arizona senators joined them. Arizona is smothered in illegals.

quote:

The Senate on Monday passed the Laken Riley Act, making the immigration-related bill the first piece of legislation to make it through the upper chamber in the new Congress and putting it a step closer to being signed into law by President Trump.

Senators voted 64-35 on the bill. Twelve Democrats voted with every Republican.

Democrats voting for the bill.

Sens. John Fetterman (Pa.)
Ruben Gallego (Ariz.)
Maggie Hassan (N.H.)
Mark Kelly (Ariz.)
Jon Ossoff (Ga.)
Raphael Warnock (Ga.)
Gary Peters (Mich.)
Jacky Rosen (Nev.)
Catherine Cortez Masto (Nev.)
Jeanne Shaheen (N.H.)
Elissa Slotkin (Mich.)
Mark Warner (Va.).

I guess they consider illegals to be subject to the jurisdiction of the US

Nevada is another state drowning in illegals. Both their senators voted with the GOP.

What are some of the valid reasons to vote against this? Seems like it should have been all senators voting for this.

Anyone in our borders is jurisdiction of the US…I know you are just a mediocre divorce attorney, but certainly they taught you some law during your online law school days

Dammit.

Why did you respond to that troll?

You gave him just what he wanted.

A thread hijack and a dopamine hit to feed his addiction.

They did. The comment is about birthright citizenship.

I'm getting worried about your constant melting, Scruffy.

You may need to walk away and stop projecting all this randomness.

Probably a good bet, but hard to know for sure.

Fetterman is most likely.

Kelly is a definite no go, IMO.
