11 pages with people defending Jeff Landry proves football coaches should not teach civics

If you want to think that athletes should stand for the pledge, that's cool.
If you think it is any way constitutional that government should mandate this, your civics teacher failed you.
If you think that tax dollars are going to pay for the LSU athletic department, your civics teacher failed you.
If you don't understand the three branches of government or how federal, state, and local government work, your civics teacher failed you.
If you think you are paying state property taxes, your civics teacher failed you.
It is truly disturbing how many people lack any basic knowledge of how government works, what our rights are, etc.
I blame football coaches. Maybe if we took civics class seriously in this country, we would have more educated voters. Instead, we let football coaches, who want a break from teaching PE, teach civics classes.

Athletes want to be treated like employees.
Employees do what their employer tells them to.
Those hoes need to stand.

Tiger Rant thread is the opposite. Probably 95% calling Landry out.

Once they received that NIL check, they bess do as told, and they should be told to stand.
By the way, the athletic department runs at a deficit

Does civics also teach that a white person at LSU has to be bombarded with racist overtones, apparently the school missed that part of civics......

That has nothing to do with civics knowledge and everything to do with how an athletic department is funded. I did not learn that in civics.
In any event, Fed money is so ubiquitous it's tangled up in every aspect of all state colleges and a lot of private ones. That's how they have leverage with Title IX nonsense. It may be bullshite that they can do that, but they can.

Hi David..... so equal rights for everyone, including White people? Dude how much did you pay James Meredith to shill for you all those years ago?
Stop reveling in your perceived victimhood. It's OK, you're still at the top of the latter.

I don't think most people on the right know the facts of this story. Most NCAA teams are not on the field or court during the anthem. It's different from pro sports where the anthem is right before the coin toss and kickoff / tip / puck drop. In NCAA the anthem is several minutes earlier.
It's such a silly "scandal", we all know Kim Mulkey is MAGA AF and doesn't care who knows it.

This ^^
Landry should have not touched this.
The girls were under fire from the national media.
Both UCONN and USC weren't on the floor for the anthem.

Poli Board gets mocked on the other boards bc of stuff like this. I think our track record is impressive when viewed objectively but Q and stories like this is why we get shite on.
In fairness to Poli Board tho it was mostly Breitbart that fanned this fake news story.

He didn’t say they were employees. He said they wanted to be treated like employees. Reading comprehension.
