Getting in late on this but I am positive that we have Assets in the air protecting one of our Mother Ships.

This is what I was thinking. Perhaps swift gunboats scattered about as well.

I went through the Suez with a carrier group both en route and leaving the Persian Gulf. In short, you are basically on high alert and locked and loaded for the entire transit. We are talking about an immense amount of firepower. Honestly, we were probably most vulnerable exiting the canal.

TLDR

Throwing rocks at a hornets nest is a bad idea.

Attacking our fleet in the canal or anywhere else would be like sticking your dick in a hornets nest then lighting yourself on fire with gas.

Does that mean they don't dilly dally around if something strange looking approaches? I assume the if a vehicle approaches they don't wait to see if it is bearing flowers.

how can it be protected from a well planned attack from land based rocket launchers while it is in the canal?

Additionally, I’d suspect the amount of damage you could do with a single (or multiple) RPGs would be mostly cosmetic.
And you'd be vaporized before you could stuff another grenade in the tube.
