The wife and I had a great meal at Beausoleil last night (Pics added)

This restaurant doesn't seem to get much talk on this board, or maybe it does and I miss it, but the food is always good, the atmosphere nice, and the menu interesting.
Started with some drinks. She got a bloody mary (because she likes them no matter what time of the day) and I got a sweet potato milk punch with rum. Was pretty tasty as I wanted something "seasonal."
Appetizers were the sautéed sweetbreads with a lemon caper beurre blanc and truffled fried oysters with shaved parmesan. Both very good starters.
Next course she ordered the French onion soup and I got the roasted beet salad. Love that salad and all the different components (goat cheese, fried capers, walnut vinaigrette).
Main course, she ordered the jumbo sea scallops (they were huge) atop a duck confit risotto (very good with nice pieces of duck in the dish). I ordered the veal porterhouse served with a country ham reduction and roasted broccolini. The meat was tender and really delicious. Also had a few glasses of wine with the meal.
All in all, both of us had a great meal and the service was very good. The waitress paced our meal well, and though we went late (7:45), the place was still relatively busy.
I'm going to make a point to eat at this place more in 2014.

I actually have them on my phone. Didn't want to post them because I didn't want to be that guy...
Except I'm that guy who snaps pics at the table. But I was lightining quick!

I regret not ordering another. It was real good and had this subtle sweet potato taste on the finish.

I need to get back there for dinner soon. I've only been for lunch and it was almost a year ago.

Love that place.
They are starting construction next month on a larger bar area next door as well as room for parties, etc. Will add 6 taps and have more room for beer and other liquor. Going to be a good thing for those guys.

They have done a great job with that place. It is a good brunch spot too. Those oysters are amazing.

Aren't they owned by the Juban's people? They were the ones who originally bought out the Silver Spoon.

Apparently it's a hot spot for just drinking.. So I think they get a lot of late business.

Who the heck down voted this?

From what I saw, it was people sitting down and having dinner. A few young families (with well behaved kids), what appeared to be a group of 8 business men having steaks and wine to close out the year, and young couples like my wife and I having a good people in a nice place.
Like I said, my 2014 resolution is to go here more!

I think I may give this a try tonight after the LSU game. Would a polo and jeans be ok, if not maybe I will venture somewhere else.

Yeah, a polo and jeans would be fine. It's a mixed bag with what people are wearing while there.
And though the food is more high end, the atmosphere isn't.
