Someone please tell me how it could happen.... I just don't see it. This is the remaining schedule:

Arkansas
at Florida
Alabama
at Kentucky
Georgia
at Ole Miss
Vanderbilt
at S.Carolina

Best case scenario: we get to 16-14 in SEC, seeded around 5-7th in SEC tournament, make a deep run and squeak in as a regional host.

Worst case scenario: we lose a bunch more 1-run games..a la last year and slip to 13-17 in SEC.

Most likely scenario: We finish something like 15-15 in SEC play and are on the NCAA bubble AGAIN.

I think it will take 17-13 to get a regional host, and I just can't see us going 14-10 against that schedule.

Therefore, the best we can hope for is to squeak into the NCAA tourney as a road #2 seed.

I think what you are forgetting is that everyone in the SEC is good, and that everyone plays a similar schedule.

Arkansas "won" the West at 15-15 last year. 3 teams were 14-16, and the last two were 13-17

Optimistic view...

Arkansas (2 of 3)
at Florida (1 of 3)
Alabama (3 of 3)
at Kentucky (2 of 3)
Georgia (2 of 3)
at Ole Miss (2 of 3)
Vanderbilt (2 of 3)
at S.Carolina (1 of 3)

18-12

Realistic view...

Arkansas (1 of 3)
at Florida (1 of 3)
Alabama (3 of 3)
at Kentucky (1 of 3)
Georgia (2 of 3)
at Ole Miss (1 of 3)
Vanderbilt (2 of 3)
at S.Carolina (1 of 3)

15-15

After looking realistically, there's hardly any room for error ahead of us in SEC play. We CANNOT leave it in the hands of the Selection Committee to screw us regardless if it is to not make the tourney at all or just bad placement in Regionals.

I still am sticking with the fact that the season is young and there are 24 of 30 games left in SEC to make moves good or bad.

Heres to a great rest of the year.

I love how both the optimistic and realistic views have 3 for 3 against Bama.

If we cant start hitting, then we aint goin .500.

we had 27 hits this weekend. 9 hits a game is just fine hitting.

what we need are the timely hits

15-15 in the SEC will NOT put us on the bubble. It will put us in the tourny

I also think we'll be lucky to win 1 at Florida for Easter weekend. Still putting us to win. I dont want to live in a world where you can predict LSU baseball will get swept although we are pretty damn close to that now.

Looking at the remaining sched I see this team finishing either 10-14 or 11-13. That means 13-17 or 14-16 again crossing our fingers. We have been shown multiple times that we have no fiends on the committee. I'm worried about this teams ability to make the tourney to say the least.
Here's how I got there
Arky 1-2
Fla 0-3
Bama 2-1
Kent 1-2
UGa 2-1
Ole Miss 2-1
Vandy 2-1
So Car 0-3
If Gausman throws a Shutout we may win one against Fla or S Car.

Sad day when Arky is the cream of the west crop

It's like a freeking repeat of the problems we had last year. If there are runners on and Mahtook isn't coming up then we may as well chalk up 0 runs. Except now no Mahtook, better pitching and some guys have improved, but overall the team has a similar feel. Thankfully if we can just win some of those 1 run games we lost last year, we might be ok

With the pitching that we have, I am fairly confident we do not go 0-6 against UF and SC. We will be in some games against those teams.

Arky - 2 of 3
Florida - swept
Bama - sweep
Kentucky - 1
UGA - 2
Ole Miss - 1
Vandy - 2
USC - 1

15-15 sounds right to me.
