At the end of the day, very solid class.

For all the freaking out, you have to admit, the class is about what we expected prior to g.k., for the exception of collins.
J.L. was a our qb from the get go. We had a shot at g.k., we took it and got him only to lose him. he could have made the class elite, as it stands it's very good.
we trade collins for corey. I'm not disappointed. we get a very solid player, who's highly intelligent, and comes from a great background. there is something to be said for that.
J.L. is a big key. if he is motivated to get his weight down, who knows what kind of qb he can be? However, if he cant, that is one big athletic guy to add value at another position. d/e, d.t., t.e. ect. you can't lose with this guy. it's better to have him than a qb that cant play and wont bring value to you if he can't.
i think people have under valued our wr's. they are big, athletic, and fast. i don't care what star they are.
we have one of the best rb's in the nation and don't get credit for it.
we have great d/e's, a good group of o.l, and our best linebacking class in some time.
at the end of the day, we met all our needs. i would have liked another d.tackle. however, we have some big athletic guys in this class.
i have a feeling, corey and j.l, don't know they are suppose to be three stars vs five. they appear to be competitive winners. when J.L. said he wasn't scared of g.k. and he would just beat him out, that tells you he's got that fire inside.

just curious, why did we need another thread like this?

isn't this board for all to voice their opinion? would you rather another l.c. and his mom thread?
i happen to like the class and tell my reasons for it. sorry if that annoys or offends you.

the more more appropriate question would be- Why did you read it?

just hoping it offered more than the others on the same topic.
Im pretty excited for this class as well, just think that the "sky is not falling" posts are as annoying as the "sky is falling" posts.
Just about everything on this board irrates me now though, so I apoligize for offending anyone. Want it to go back to being like it used to be, but thats just wishful thinking.

Solid Thread.
Only the Rantards freaked out.
Would love to end with Patterson.
I am pumped.

I am really warming up to this class. From an outsider looking in, there is no flash, but this class fills specific needs and there are several players who I believe are underated. I only wish we could have landed a top notch DT and maybe one star WR, but this class is definitely shaping up.

around a C+ by LSU standards and what it could have been w/ Collins coming out and another big project at QB
Don't have that elite WR needed w/ Randle leaving
Strong OL and a ton of nos. at LB

By all accounts on local TV, Louisiana is having a down year overall when it comes to the highest quality of high schoolers. And since LSU gets its fair share of the state's top recruits, it will be year not as exciting as last year when there was a glut of top recruits in the state.
The good news is next year and the year after are projected to be really top quality years for Louisiana as far as numbers go.

I'm not even high on this class, but that's harsh.
It's a top 10ish class on every site.

team rankings don't mean a whole lot until all the faxes are in and missing on 2/3 top players from LA gets big points off for me
QB is still a huge question going forward w/ 3 big projects behind Mett

Still having a great deal of trouble with losing two 5-stars (one of them 25 miles from the LSU campus) and getting 2 3-stars. And worse- losing Pat Miller.

I've noticed that people that want to be negative about lsu and the recruiting class only look at one services rankings of players to down grade lsu's incoming class.
Liggins and Thompson are 4 stars on other services and are both really great pickups for the tigers. But if you want to be disappointed about it then go ahead.

I don't consider Randall a project.
