Still having a great deal of trouble with losing two 5-stars (one of them 25 miles from the LSU campus) and getting 2 3-stars. And worse- losing Pat Miller.
Collins - was never coming here because of a female.
KG - was a long shot, and chose to stay home.
Miller - got caught up with KG taking his EE.
Other than that... Everything pretty much played out like it should have.

next yr LSU will have its hands full again w/ the top guys thanks to bama
I think lsu will be right up there next year. especially with the season/exposure of this year and looking like another top team next year.
i think you already saw the affects with corey, liggens (love him or hate him, he's a freak athlete that will be valuable at some position for lsu), and possibly patterson or alexander.
i, for one, hope bama keeps grey shirting kids from this years class for next years. I think that catches up with them. At some point, you are going to miss on some players.
I just find it interesting when these programs get hot and start getting all the elite talent like florida did under meyer, florida st under bowden, and u.s.c. did under carol, all of sudden, those elite players don't show up on the field. i think teams forget their roots, their home grown talent. They recruit nationally thinking those kids are better. however, it doesn't show on the field. bama didn't protect it's border this year.
for the exception of l.c., lsu got everyone they wanted from la. of course, the last great safety to get away was really a blessing. who would have thought that eric reid and brandon taylor would turn out better than j. jackson and craig loston? you never know.
our classes have been lower ranked than bama's for the last five years. however, our talent on the field has been equal at the very least.
this coaching staff, especially the last two years, has been spot on with their talent evaluations. when it's all said and done, i bet we got some stars that we don't know how good they are.

This is a B+ class.
Really solid, took care of EVERY position of need with maybe the exception of DT.

meanwhile, kids like morris c., tyler wilson, t.m., brockers, rgIII, blackmon, m. ball, ect turn out to be stars.
i realize some turn out to be peterson, luck, spears, clayton, tebow. with that said, some no names like favre, demarcus ware, jason piere paul, k warner, ben r. turn out to be big time too.
let it play out. let's find out who are show horses and who are work horses. A lot of these kids have equal physical ability, it's between the ears and in the heart on how great they want to be.

He seems the most likely to go to Bama. But either way, my point remains. It's LSU. They'll land someone just as talented from OOS. I think you're putting too much into losing 1-2 guys from La.
If it were 6-7 every year, then I'd see your concern, but IMO, it's not that huge of a deal. LSU is very well known brand. They WILL find someone who wants to play for them.

Understood, but isn't Diarse supposed to move to DB and is a step slower? Thought I read that he isn't the fastest prospect around.

C- class. Didnt get any of the big names that LSU tried to get. No superstars. Need a good qb and wr. This class is the most least exciting class in years. And thats after going 13-1 and being preseason #1. Getting outrecruited by many schools in the south east stinks.

Also another thing to consider. Last year we all thought that we had a beastly recruiting class and we finished ranked 9th on Scout. This year, a lot of people think it is an average to pretty good recruiting class and we are currently ranked 6th on Scout.

Our class should be ranked in the top 10 by most services.
It's possible we can be ranked as high as 3 on scout.
You right its just Meh.....

here we go, five star Janzen jackson to tenn. five star mcknight to u.s.c., four star sentimore to bama, four star luther davis to bama, four star k bell to bama, four star e lacy to bama, four star travon reed to Au, four star robinson to Au, four star prentis wagner to tenn.
lost all that top in state talent to rivals and still played in the n.c. game. now that is SIGNIFICANT!
geeze, no way we will be able to compete!

So you're basically saying that LSU loses La. recruits and now LSU and Ole Miss are on the same level with each other.
