Lock em up

1. Carolina: Da'Quan Bowers,DE, Clemson
I think Bowers rips up the combine and Carolina sees him as their next Peppers.

2. Denver Broncos: Nick Fairley,DT, Auburn
No brainer with Bowers going 1st

3. Buffalo Bills: Von Miller,DE/OLB, Texas A&M
Gailey coached him at the Senior Bowl. He's in love

4. Cincinnati Bengals: A.J. Green,WR, Georgia
The T.OCHO Show's replacement

5. Arizona Cardinals: Patrick Peterson, CB, LSU
BPA. Pair him with DRC

6. Cleveland Browns: Marcell Dareus,DT, Alabama
He comes in and plays DT in their new 4-3 scheme

7. San Francisco 49ers: Blaine Gabbert,QB, Missouri
I had Amukamara here 1st, but i think Harbaugh grabs the only top QB with a shot at running his system

8. Tennessee Titans: Prince Amukamara,CB, Nebraska
They put down the razor blade and pick Prince after SF took their guy.

9. Dallas Cowboys: Robert Quinn,DE,North Carolina
Jerruh now puts his razor down and takes Quinn after Tenn. took his guy

10. Washington Redskins: Cameron Jordan,DE, Cal
Their defense was a disaster and he can play 3-4 DE.

11. Houston Texans: Aldon Smith,OLB, Missouri
No secondary guys worth picking here so they pick Smith to play OLB in Wade's new 3-4.

12. Minnesota Vikings: Ryan Mallett,QB, Arkansas
I think Mallett shows off his big arm for Minny and they get desperate and reach for him.

13. Detroit Lions: Nate Solder, OT, Colorado
Lions are tired of dragging Stafford off the field

14. St. Louis Rams: Julio Jones, WR, Alabama
No brainer for the Rams and Bradford

15. Miami Dolphins: Cam Newton, QB, Auburn
Somebody has to do it and the Phins owner seems to wanna make headlines as much as win

16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Akeem Ayers,OLB,UCLA
Simply BPA

17. New England Patriots: JJ Watt,DE, Wisconsin
Perfect 3-4 DE for them

18. San Diego Chargers: Cameron Heyward,DE,OSU
Another 3-4 DE

19. New York Giants: Mark Ingram,RB,Alabama
Jacobs is gone and Bradshaw is not an every down guy

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers:Ryan Kerrigan,DE, Purdue
I just lifted my razor

21. Kansas City Chiefs: Phil Taylor, NT, Baylor
Vince Wilfork

22. Indianapolis Colts: Corey Liuget,DT, Illinois
Stephen Paea could go here, or earlier, depending on his injury

23. Philadelphia Eagles: Tyron Smith, OT, USC
Workout warrior. The Eagles benched Justice in the playoffs

24. New Orleans Saints: Titus Young, WR, Boise State.
Go ahead and destroy me. I deserve it. But there just is no 4-3 DE or OLB even close to being worth it in this spot. I tried hard to find a defensive player worth it here, but theyd all be huge reaches.
The only player even close is Justin Houston but he's a prototypical 3-4 rush OLB. Paea would also be an option depending on his injury. Allen Bailey is more of a name than an actual player. Wilkerson could be a guy, but if they really go BPA, Young is the better player of the two.
Hopefully one of the other DEs fall.

Young though, dominated the senior bowl and would come in and immediately fill needs at punt returner, kick returner, and deep threat at WR. A lot of scouts believe he has Desean Jackson type potential.

Plus Devery disappeared this year and Moore is a FA. Remember nobody had the Saints down for a 1st round CB last year

25. Seattle Seahawks: Brandon Harris, CB, Miami
Im tired

26. Baltimore Ravens: Jimmy Smith, CB, Colorado
Thats secondary needs help

27. Atlanta Falcons: Jonathan Baldwin,WR,
Pittsburgh
Huge bigtime WR to push Jenkins out

28. New England Patriots: Justin Houston, DE/OLB, Georgia
Pats find their pass rusher

29. Chicago Bears: Anthony Castonzo,OT, Boston College
Jay Cutler approves this message. Pouncey at guard could be an option

30. New York Jets: Muhammed Wilkerson,DT, Temple
Jenkins is old and hurt every year

31. Pittsburgh Steelers: Mike Pouncey, G, Florida
Yeah.

32. Green Bay Packers: Mikel Leshoure, RB, Illinois

* Where Kolb goes could change things. Particularly for Minnesota

Don't worry about getting reamed for that guess... If there is one thing certain about the Saints 1st round pick is that you never freakin know.

wtf is this doing on SPT?

I think you must have missed Adrian Clayborn. #3 DE for Mayock, #7 on drafttek, #4 on draft countdown, #5 on great blue, #6 on walter, etc

scanning some Titus Young big board ratings I cannot find him higher than #47 overall. That doesn't fit the Saints BPA MO at all. Stretch for a minimal need position?

After Green and Jones I see Baldwin, Torrey Smith, & Hankerson more often the #3 ranked WR

not to speak of Vince Young, McNabb, Bulger, Carson palmer, Orton, etc that could be on the move too

There wont be 46 guys taken ahead of him. No way

Mcnabb is the only lock of that group thats gone and could command a starting job.
Palmer's staying.
Nobody's handing Vince Young a starting job
I think Orton stays
And Bulger's not stopping anyone from drafting a QB

Clayborn was an oversight on my part who the Saints could take or bump Kerrigan down to them

pretty definitive there

not saying that, just on overall big boards that's the highest I can find him. That and I see two other wide receivers consistently ranked ahead of him. Taking a player at least a half round higher than his general consensus can happen but not something to project IMO.

I'd go 1 to 4 that he will be around at Saints #56 and they don't take him there.

Posted a thread yesterday that Mayock sez a minimum of 7-8 first rd DEs. That would make the likelihood of one available at #24 pretty decent.

From a Patriots view point, I don't think they take Watt because he seems like a (albeit good one) one gap player. Houston is intriguing to me, but it still needs to be determined if he can "set the edge" in the Patriots offense.

A few of those same people you cited earlier are starting to move him up.

Mayock says he could be a first rounder
Walterfootball has him in the first round of their latest mock
Jeff Duncan says he was hearing the same thing about him at the senior bowl

A solid 40 time will solidify that

Most people seem to think he's a pretty versatile guy and can play multiple positions. However, i couldve flipped Watt with Heyward, since i had him going one spot later

I think we would go OL before WR if we were in your proposed situation.

2 probowl guards. Brown and Strief at backup tackle. Tenant at backup center. I dont see why they would take another o lineman.

But these are all guesses so who knows

I don't know if we can really pick who the Saints will take. It's BPA unless we move up or back.

To be honest, I wouldn't mind us trading a bunch of our picks this year for picks next year when we have a rookie salary cap so that the team is in a better place to sign FAs the next few years. And then we can pick up a late RB like Derrick Locke, Kendall Hunter, Bilal Powell, Delone Carter, Stevan Ridley or Josh Nesbitt.

I like that line of thought.

replying to this just cuz it's something other than Payton place...

just for the record-

draft tek
Saints #56 Dontay Moch
Titus Young goes #58, ranked #61 overall, 5th ranked WR

draft countdown
only does 1st round mock, overall has Young #73 and the 8th ranked WR

great blue
Young mocked @ #48, overall #47 rank, #6 of the WRs

walter
their multiple mocks have him going- #59, not in the top 64, & #26, he didn't make their top 32 big board

Mayock said he reminds him Jackson and that teams will have to do a lot more homework on him. Still has him ranked tied as the 4th best WR

-------
I like the guy. He looks like a Devery replacement (if DH would be gone). Stranger things have happened but him at 24 is a stretch both in overall value and as the 3rd WR behind Jones & Green.

Taking him over an available Adrian Clayborn, Paea, Wilkerson, etc would remind me of the feeling of a Saints past #6 overall stretch choice taken over Marcus Trufant, Kevin Williams, Terrel Suggs, & Polamalu, etc
