Ran across this video the other day and couldn't get over how brilliant of an idea/product it is. With a young kid running around the house, this seems like a perfect solution for having accessible guns in the house without them getting into the wrong hands accidentally. I will be ordering one when they come out.

Best solution to kids in the house with guns is to teach them gun safety.

They might still be available for pre-order if you check out their site or Facebook for details.

Probably try to master potty training first then move to gun safety.

do you need it for every gun? or just the gun that you use for home safety?

I would be curious to how well this work because I'm still trying to find an effective way to store our gun now that we have a 3 year running around the house

right now they are all unloaded in my closet, which renders them completely ineffective, although with a house alarm we should have time to react properly if someone were to break in

Stick your HD gun your full arms length under your matress, assuming you don't sleep in a twin bed and you aren't Peter Dinklage. Little kid can't reach it, much less lift the matress off the bed, and will likely never even think to look there for anything. Lock the other guns up in your safe, and of course teach gun safety.

I like the idea of putting a couple of these tracking ones inside a couple of guns in the safe, that way if they move, I know something is up...

I keep my shotgun on the shelf at the top of my closet. Which is over 6 feet off the ground. And about 2 feet back and most of it is hidden. I don't worry about the kids getting ahold of it.

This actually looks pretty cool. My current security setup is hidden, but within easy access, no round in the chamber, safety on. Kids aren't strong enough to rack the slide if they get the safety off. They also know not to screw with them. But, oldest is now 10 so it's time to make a change.

I've mentioned this before. I have a magnetic gun holder which I have installed hidden in the lining of my box springs under my bed. The pistol is kept loaded with one in the chamber. Chances of it just falling off the magnet. Zero. I tested it's holding power when I first got it jumping on the bed, physically picking uip the box spring and dropping it, etc. Hell I forgot about it when we moved and I had the bed loaded up in the Pods and the pods was off to storage when I remembered I forgot to pull it out. Still in the same spot when the Pods was delivered to the new house. You can't see it looking under the bed. You have to reach into the slit I made in the underside of the boxspring and know where to stick your hand to get it. It is just a matter of rolling off my side of the bed (which is away from the bedroom entrance) sticking my hand up there and grabbing the pistol.

LINK

If you try one out just be warned the magnet is so strong it will snatch the gun out of your hand and hit the magnet pretty hard when you put the pistol on there. Don't get your skin in the way like I did the first time I used it. That hurt like hell when it pinched my skin and left a nice little purple pinch mark on the web of my hand.

The only problem I really see with guns hidden deep in mattress springs or under beds like you have mentioned is the possibility of blindly groping around for a loaded gun under the bed and putting a round somewhere unintended. Especially under the stress of a home invasion.

My plan is actually to get that magnet and mount it behind the headboard then get the Zore-X.

Clearly, I will teach my child and future children about the importance of gun safety at the appropriate time. You don't leave kids unattended around a pool, and you cover up electrical outlets around them, guns are something they will learn with time. Until you walk out and see your 2 year old standing on the kitchen counter, that he got on from the island stool, which he drug over so he could get to the candy you put out of the way so he wouldn't get into it, then you might be a little more precautionary.

The other advantage to the lock is the fact that if you think you have taught your kid gun safety, and he grabs it, you'll be warned, giving you another opportunity to go over the importantance of gun safety with them.

does the warning only device fit any gun? like a shotgun or rifle? It looked like it just snapped on the barrel

They have some more videos on their YouTube channel. It does appear to be magnetic. Zore Watchdog

This would be great to have on a truck gun. That way if someone breaks into your car you will know...
