Love castin Cajun. Tony was one of a kind. Lots of mutual friends. Having said that. Walker Cay.

What about it? That was a pretty big deal when it happened.
ETA: if you're talking about the Waddell thing, you won't find much. It was just a post on his Facebook page with several hundred comments.

The Southern Sportsman
Franc White hosted "The Southern Sportsman" from 1972 to 1996. It was produced at WRAL-TV in Raleigh. White died in 2012 at age 86.
It came on right before church on Sunday mornings. My brother and I would watch it almost every week.
He'd always close the show with the same line, "Do yourself a favor, take a kid fishing." Now that I'm a dad, I realize the truth in that simple admonition.

You can tell that Rinella puts some thought in to just about everything he says and even if you disagree he normally lays out his logic on why he believes it.

Whoever the guy is that shoots doves with a bow. That guy is badass. Don’t remember the name of the show.

He is the most refreshing thing about hunting today. If every one was like him, whether a hunter or not, things would be a lot simpler.
The only thing that slightly annoys me about him on his podcast is the way he cuts people off...he does it ALL THE TIME!! Let the guy talk, Steve.

yup, he doesn't try to be anything he isn't. his shows don't feel like one long ad. he also doesn't go out of his way to try and be a redneck.

I recently found The Hunting Public on YouTube and I’ve really enjoyed it. It’s not an overly produced “hunting show”. Is a group of young guys that mostly hunt public land and film their own hunts and scouting. Is very entertaining if you enjoy learning about how to hunt deer instead of just watching footage of shooting deer.

I don't get the love for Meateater.
Hunting - basically any show involving the hunting of deer or their relatives with bows. I will not watch any show using rifles or the hunting of beers, predators, etc.
Fishing. I can watch just about any fishing show other than Fishing University.

For all the Rinella fans, what are your favorite eps? I am a podcast guy: Hanging Tree (1/2) and Joe Rogan are two I go back to.

those are really good. I liked "cloning mammoths" a lot. Also there is one of the early ones with ken smith (27 or 28 i think) that is really interesting.

Almost any episode with Dan Flores, Karl Malcolm, or Kevin Murphy is a must listen. The Joe Rogan episodes are awesome as well. The Meat Tree Parts 1 and 2 are probably the best of all though.
Of the TV episodes I have seen, the solo coues deer hunt, the Eduardo Garcia episode, and the Leopold-centric turkey hunt in the Gila National Forest are my favorites. Although, the Kevin Murphy episodes are pretty good as well.
It's nice to watch a show that isn't a giant advertisement, and Rinella is a pretty damn good storyteller.

Thanks to the OB, I got the WAYPOINT app on my FireTV.
On there I really like "Hooked on Wild Waters"
It gets cheesy sometimes, but it's a show largely dedicated to river fishing for bass in kayaks - which is my favorite type of fishing. I love seeing all the different river environments and hear how he targets those fish in different situations.
